If you can track this down somewhere I highly recommend giving this a watch. It's an HBO documentary about the rise of black gang culture in L.A. and it starts as far back as the 40's and how gangs like the Crips and Bloods formed in large part due to the fall of revolutionary groups such as the US Organization and the Black Panther Party.

It gives a pretty good in depth look at it all and kept my attention 100%. It was directed by a guy name Cle 'Bone' Sloan who himself is still an Athens Park Blood but is trying (futile maybe) to change the idea of gangs from the inside.

You can probably search it out on a torrent site somewhere.... I don't believe it's out on DVD or anything yet.

When it's released on dvd, I'm sure I'll see it. My buddy lets me know whenever a new documentary comes into the video store he works at.

Also... Avana.... I didn't need anything. I just thought that there might be some people who had missed this and had the intelligence to either be interested or at the very least understand the movie should they watch it. This is a fantastic documentary worth checking out... that was my point from the get go.
