hrm, thinking back on the movie, it doesn't seem all so bad...
I think on paper, a lot of the ideas were great but I think the execution was poor. maybe it's the whole, 'I think uma thurman is a bad actress' in me that made me detest the movie, that and david carradine... I don't want to go on about how any action movie with david carradine is bad... but looking back on lucy liu and her 'crew' thing, it was really cool. that and when I see all the previews for kill bill on tv. It reminds me of all the cool scenes in the movie... maybe I just thought the movie was way too long and they focused too much time on useless scenes... either way, I think I'll stop ranting untill someone starts bashing my opinions. |

I thought the movie was really good, i took it for what it was, A B-movie, people come on, who cares if Lucy is cross eyed her character was great. Not to mention the movie isn't done yet, I personaly can't wait to see what Micheal Madson's character is like, he was awsome in Resevoir dogs and Donnie Brasco.

I have Underworld and Kill Bill but i've only seen Underworld...so i can only review that piece.. it wasnt bad, had some funky action and special effects and what not. however after watchinig it a 3rd time with my buddy and gf they picked up on same old vampire traits taht were outta whack. like them being able to see thier own reflections and drinkin blood that wasnt "fresh". meh its all the same to me didnt change the movie on me but yeah if you wanna watch a movie thats got a rather interesting story line catch that flick.now i go watch Kill Bill.

i observed this movie in an artistic point of view and i found it really well done. The editing was extremly well done. i LOVED it when the girl blinked and it turned black and white just to somewhat "tone down" the blood gore.. and also the black and blue shadow scene. Extremly well done. This movie is completely out of the norm, but worked out really well. The combination of japanese, chinese, and western somehow combined really well to create a comedic, yet serious kind of feel.. which made it feel like a life like cartoon/anime. I think they could have worked on the anime part and maybe extend it to more parts of the movie. Overall i really enjoyed this movie.. i went in just to check out lucy lui and i got a lot more out of it.
and THANK GOD she didn't mess much lucy's face.. and to those who were making fun of lucy lui..I HATE YOU. she's sooooo fine. crazy how a caucasion gal can step into an asian country and woop EVERYONE'S asses... ppssshhhhhhhh.. oh wait its an anime. right-eos. |

I just saw this movie here in HK. To be honest I found it quite entertaining and somewhat disturbing (and not because of the blood). I was skeptical of Uma Thurman being the lead actress in this film,,, but after seeing the show I was very impressed with her performance. Not too take anything away from Lucy Lui... but I thought she was terrible for her character's role in this film. Although she is a very beautiful woman,,, IMO she didn't play even a slightly convincing role as and underworld boss. All the blood was pretty funny,,, and I guess that's what really happens when heads and limbs get dismembered. All in all it was a good movie and I will go see the sequel. |

anybody notice the weird things in the movie. For example when Vernita Green was in the kitchen talking to Uma Thurman she gets the cereal and its called "kaboom". Well afterwards she pulls out a gat and trys to pop her. Some good forshadowing there. Also when Uma is in the hospital and Buck is talking about how he sells her off for sex. Well the heart rate machine in the back is always at "69". ALso when Uma walks across the room in the jap place theres a camera view as she walks across shooting up and u see the bottom of her shoe. Anybody catch what it said?
