I saw kill bill tonight & I thought that it was saweet! Quinton Terrintino has done it again! Although you most definitely have to have the stomach for seeing blood & dismembered body parts... hehehe, what an intense flick :kimmie:

Lost in Translation is DOPE. It's one of those movies that isn't really full of 'action' but just draws you in so much that you really really want to keep on watching.
Some of my friends saw Kill Bill yesterday and they said it was the best movie they've EVER seen.. Heard Underworld is kinda lame. Guess you can find out for yourself, tho! |

heh...
I thought this was one of those most over-rated movies of all time... the only thing that might have made it worth seeing, in cronological order, is the following. 1. the matrix 3 preview... 2. the animation sequence halfway through the movie... damn was that animation sequence awesome... 3. the chick with the chain... anybody that knows how to use a chain is cool in my books. I think I would have enjoyed the movie much more had lucy liu's character been the main character. as her character story was much more entertaining then uma thurmans(sp?) and the swordplay was awful... plain awful... I swear, akira kurasawa would probably cry if he saw this movie... maybe I wouldn't have hated this movie so much if I didn't think uma thurman was such a poor actress and if the general public didn't think lucy liu was this gorgeous asian actress when she's cross eyed. don't get me wrong though, I thought lucy liu character was the best part of the movie. and uma's clothes really annoyed me... I thought bruce lee too would cry had he seen this movie... I mean... the yellow jump suit with black stripes... come on... and I found the needless blood ruining the story. I mean, it was like all this pointless blood and I felt like for a lot of the scenes, they were focusing on the goriness of things, rather then character developement or story building. one thing that I found disappointing was the fact that she never went into that high kendo stance, I don't know what it's called but it looks hella cool... the one where you draw your sword and place it a bit infront of the top of your head, preparing for a downward strike... I think the one time that I enjoyed the 'last battle', besides when she fought the chick with the chain was when she did a heaven to earth strike on some dood... and I guess the arguement could be that this is a 'mindless, action movie' but I found her movements too slow AND FOR GODS SAKE SHE COULD NOT SWING THE SWORD/KNIFE CORRECTLY TO SAVE HER LIFE. I guess if you want to see mindless violence, this is your movie... other wise, I found it was a waste of my time... minus the anime sequence... man, that rocked though... |
