I love how people complain about character development, storyline and plot hot holes, and comic remarks etc.... IF THEY HAVE NEVER READ THE BOOKS!!!! Some of the things people complain about are in the books... thats the way it was supposed to be!!
I personally think that Peter Jackson did an amazing job of translating the books to screen. There are some hardcore fans who bitch but I mean some things just have to be lost in order to trim down the length. I don't think that anyone will top this movie/trilogy in a long time to come. The story is timeless and beyond epic so it appeals to a massively wide audience. If any of the 3 were qualified for best picture nominations this is the one to do it too. :) |

^not only should you read the book, you should watch the movies again cause you weren't paying attention
wormtongue, Theoden's advisor who was corrupted by Saruman, got booted out of Edoras by Gandalf & crew?? and the eagles made their first appearence in FOTR, remember they saved gandalf from the top of orthanc? critics of the book have questioned that part as well, asking why didn't they just get the eagles to fly in there with the ring in the first place? I believe Tolkien's explanation was that nature's kingdom had always made a point of avoiding the wars of men & elves, but in the final conflict the eagles knew that a victory for Sauron would mean the end of nature as they knew it. or something like that. Frodo & Bilbo do go west with the elves in the book, the only difference in the ending was the Scouring of the Shire. the part with the ghost ships was in the book, but the book didn't describe the scene inside the mountain of the dead... they just went in, and the next you see them they're showing up at the pellenor with all the dead troops. |

okokok i remember wormtongue, hes tha brainwash guy
as far as tha eagles, i guess there was just too much in tha books to fully explain everything in the movies. i want background info ie. gandalf saying blah blah blah eagles yada yada. so in tha book do they attack those ships pirate style, i woulda liked to see that. pirates of the caribbean let me down. im glad they didnt put the shire part in at tha end cuz i was already madd at all the bs at tha end. thing just kept going. everytime it switched to a new scene i cursed them all. |
