Side Note: The PSP is using some sort of coating to protect its large, gorgeous screen. Although it is not confirmed precisely what formula they are using, there was an article posted at IGN about a test on a formula that is reportedly extremely similar to the final one being used on the PSP. I don't know how true this will end up being, but it might perhaps help ease some fears about the screen being protectionless. Read up about it here. It took a knife gouging at it to damage it. So if that's true, you can expect the PSP screen to be extremely scratch resistant. Here's hoping!

I already made a big thread on this so I won't comment too much:

^^
Pictures of all the launch games.

I've already pre ordered mine, it's a little pricey, but will probably be worth it. Futureshop is selling it for $399 w/a Hockey game, and atv game (both of which are online capable).

The UMD falls out when you tilt it? I've never heard about that issue. I know about the square button being faulty.

Gamespot says:

"You insert UMDs into the PSP by sliding a switch on the top of the handheld and making the UMD lid pop out from the back of the handheld. You'll know if you've inserted the UMD all the way since it'll snap into place when it reaches the bottom. The UMD will be locked into the lid, and it won't fall out even if you turn the PSP upside down and shake it around. You're ready to play games and movies once you've inserted the disk all the way and pushed the lid shut. If you want to take out the UMD, all you have to do is open the lid again, which will automatically free the UMD from locked position."

to eject the disc, there is a switch.. a switch right beside the "R" trigger

press the r trigger and you could potentially slide the "open" slider from the psp, ejecting your disc, doing this while slightly tipping your psp will cause the disc to come out. And since you're playing a video game, you might accidentally hit the X button which will cause you to go into the OS.

Keep in mind, your probably using a prototype/developer psp. I hope that any of these errors would be fixed for the retail release.

Since I can't find the other PSP thread (atleast not on the first page) I'll post my comments here. So yeah, I've preordered my PSP Gretzky Bundle (even though I don't want gretzky, got perfectly good hockey title for Xbox, and gretzky is getting crap reviews) from EB Games... and I got WipeOut Pure preordered too. I'm a huge WipeOut series fan (from day one... i've played em all, including the N64 version)... and this game looks amazing (so glad they turned it back to WipeOut XL/3 styling)... also they're promicing every month for the first 6 months there will be downloadable content, 2 tracks, 2 new vehicles, skins for old vehicles & 2 new songs for the soundtrack... what an awesome deal! Also I really like the fact that the PSP is Region free for games... so I can import games from europe... like if the F1 and WRC titles are europe only, just import em :D I'm very excited about this purchase... and can't wait to have my grubby hands all over it this Thursday. And to the one who was debating iPod or PSP... get a PSP... get a larger memory stick too... use it as your mp3 (and even video) player until you have money to buy a iPod later (I already got an iPod and the PSP won't replace it as an mp3 player... nor will the PSP be used as a video player as I've got the Powerbook for when I wanna watch videos while traveling).
