So, for someone like myself, who's followed the UFC since its first few events (not fanatically, just whenever I could see it), this reality show was right up my alley. Just wonering if there's any other FnKers who watch/follow this, an what input they have.

For instance, did anyone else think that Jason Thacker was a poor representative for Canadians?

An dammit, I may be alone in this, but I like Chris Leben, what a riot. too bad he got caught in those takedowns.....always a piss-off to see a match that could be so good end like that. Koscheck is a good fighter, though not as good as Leben, IMO.

Leben is obviously not a better fighter.... he lost, hands down. It doesn't matter how he lost! Koshchek was smart to take him out of his game and do what he knew how to do best.

A good fighter knows what to do in almost any situation and with Koshchek on top Leben was useless.... he got a little better towards the end of the 2nd round but not enough to sway the fight in his favor.

dude this is the only show i watch on tv, and have followed the UFC since it started i actually started a thread about this before the first show.

as for Koshchek he is a bum, the second he fights anyone with ground skills he's done, and for the recored i had the match as a draw, they both landed a few shots here and there Leben actually landed a few more, leben was the agressor the whole time the match was on the feet, and while on the ground i thought he stayed busyer, on top of almost keylocking koshchek. Its funny i used to crossfight my buddy who was B.C provincial champ and i would let him take me to the ground everytime put him in the gaurd and work his ass from the bottom, the second wrestlers get you on ur back they have no idea what the fucks going on im pretty pissed they didnt give this fight a 3 round. koshchek is a boring fighter with no stand up no submission, fuck he doesnt even know how to ground and pound properly.

That fight is exactly why I like watching Pride better. Sure Josh won, but the fight was boring as hell to watch and he made no attempt to finish the fight. Stupid lay n pray victories...

At least in Pride, the actually penalize inactivity like that and force a standup.

^^ ya pride is way more elite then UFC. i hate watching fighters who fight to survive rather then fight to win.

^ that and the judges actually have some semblance of knowledge of the ground game. A lot of UFC judges seem to think that just because you're on top, that you're winning regardless of whether you do anything or not...

leben hit more from the bottom, did more in general. Because I use to wrestle, an have one a lot of striking, and know how to use the two, koscheck was pathetic. He was little more than a university wrestler put into the octagon. I agree with every point made by harstylin an mofo-x, except about pride, as I haven't watched. If only for that 3rd round. And I hate seeing Leben fall for that ol wrestling tactic of shooting right away after being stood-up. I used that, fell for it, an learned from it. Hard to watch him get it like that.

Although, I have to give something to Koscheck....he knew himself, an knew the only way he was going to beat Leben. Leben knew the only way he would get beat, and said so earlier in the show. He went for a game plan that, well, worked, even if it exploited a weakness in the UFC system.........

^ oh man - track yourself down some Pride fights and watch them. The rules are geared more towards action and some of their top fighters are in a completely different league than UFC guys (especailly the current crop of heavyweights)

fuck UFC has sucked ever since it finallly got on TV, i remember seeing it when it was illegal to sell it in some countries. like maybe...12 years ago? back then almost every fight ended with at least SERIOUS injuries, and sometimes people dying.
