Ive been waiting to see this for a long time, only a week away now till opening night ...this movie looks #@%&*@$ awesome!

Ridley Scott is one of my favorite directors, hes done gladiator/aliens etc ..

Anyways anyone else planning on checkin this out on may 6th?

I'm so going to this opening night. Matt, we should see it at the new paramount theatre that opened on burrard today. Apparently Bono saw a prescreening there last night and he thought it was awesome. haha

This movie looks interesting. Great cast and director. I don't know anything about the story though.

Is it fiction or historical? Or... mix of both?

I just saw it.

I liked it. But it kinda lacked something. I don't think Orlando Bloom makes a really strong solo leading man.

Gladiator was a far better movie.

Still, it was awesome. Great directing, cinematography.

I'd give it about a 3.5/5

Yeah I liked it a lot, wasnt quite as good as I thought it would be though ...

I think my expectations were a bit too high, Gladiator was far supieror but ..its hard to compare the them, since they are two completely different types of movies.

And I totaly agree with the above comment about Orlando being weak in the leading role.

Anyways thanks Nev for not falling asleep/leaving during this, I know it was a long one.

Man this was a good movie, double agreed with orlando bloom not being a strong front man. The movie didn't strike the same kind of emotion Gladiator did, but maybe thats only because ive seen it once. Great movie, and the close camera fighting was amazing.

hardly. if you consider the camera shaking all over the place that you cant see anything during close combat scenes then YES! it was amazing. Movie started out with some potential but then im not sure where the director was trying to take it after. Orlando definatly did not make a good lead for this movie. Personally if they got somebody lets say like Eric bana who i think did an excellent job back in Troy it would of been better. However even if they got a great lead it couldn't of saved the movie entirely. The movie was still not that great but was definatly not all that bad. It did have some points where it wowed you but overall it did not do the job. 2.5 stars out of 5

I haven't watched the movie, but my first reaction to seeing the lead-man played by Orlando Bloom was disgust. He's a little bitch. Those type of people were MEN back during the crusades. Not hollywood girlymen. I expect the movie to suck, for this exact reason.
