i dont think i remember the compairisions to Christianity. interesting point there.
Silmarillion is the best book in the LOTR series...IMHO.

that doesn't matter.

a part of the movie is ruined for me. aslan dies (i didn't remember that), gets resurrected (normally when somebody dies, they stay dead), and it all happens at a beach.

i didn't want to know that.

why did you edit what you originally wrote? And you would have known how it ends if you read the book too! Then you wouldn't be having this lil spat :)

i edited it because i knew i'd be able to slip another post in.

just because somebody read the book before doesn't mean that they know how it ends. ALSO i'm sure there are other people on fnk that haven't read the book and wanted to see the movie.

Cool movie, very entertaining. I'm a big fan of anything to do with monsters and creatures so this was amazing. Only complaint is that it seemed a little budget at times. There were about 4 separate times when you can clearly see that there is a screen behind the characters. My boyfriend didn't notice but I did and it took me a little bit to get back into the movie whenever I noticed that. The characters and creatures were amazing and all so I was kind of dissapointed that they couldn't master something like that. I kept comparing it to Lord of the Rings, especially the battle scene, but there were definitely some cool images in the battle scene. Although I do think LOTR ruined me for all other fantasy movies. I can't imagine what this movie could have been if Peter Jackson had done it.

Totally great way to spend a couple of hours though.

I'll put it this way:
If Lord of the Rings hadn't come out and utterly floored us at how epic and fantastic the movie adaptation of a classic book could be this would have been a really really good movie. That being said, it sadly feels waaay too much like it's screaming out "ME TOO!" althought it did have some really great qualities. The animation for the beavers was perfectly done.

(heh heh, I just said the animation for the beavers was perfectly done.... *snicker*)

I took my little sister to see it on tuesday and i loved it. I read the book when i was in like grade 5 and she had just finished reading it in class. I had totaly forgot most of what happened in the book so it was really fun to watch the movie.

SIMPLY AMAZING MOVIE.
I was in awe from beginning to end. Nothing was largely unfair to the book (i re-read before i went to see the flick ;)) and all elements were captured on film exactly how I pictured them from the book.
The acting lacked in some places with the children I found. However, I do know they were cast based on their likeness to the character moreso than their acting ability.
I too, noticed the screens behind the characters at times, but in other shots of the breath-taking land scapes and CGI creatures; i ended up being lost in the movie once more.
The filmography and cinematography in this movie where awe-inspiring. Where the battles lacked gore, the camera angles made up for it by being so odd and so different from others that I have seen in movies.

T'was a good movie, I was fortunate to share such an amazing viewing with charished company.
The best part of the night had to be when detn8r spotted peter jackson coming out of the theatre next to ours from a private viewing of king kong. I haven't laughed that hard in AGES.
9.5/10
