console or PC

boxing day is approaching, with many computer stores putting some decent hardware up for sale, last year i stood in line at ncix in richmond to get some computer stuff, and the summer before that i built myself a new comp which is running decent still.. the question is: should i upgrade?

as an average gamer, i want my time to be well spent enjoying games without any hassle.. which is why the question arose: should i upgrade my comp for another year or 2 of pc games? or should i ditch my pc for upgrades and just save up for a nintendo revolution. ive already actually made the decision to just wait it out, but im wondering if there is anything else i should consider before boxing days where the sale prices will be oh so tempting.

i see it like this: i could spend 1000 bux for a new comp (tower) or i could wait 6 or so months to get a revolution for.. 299 (at least i think it will be priced at 299) at least with a console, i wont feel outdated until the next gen comes along, whereas a computer gets outdated by better hardware/new technology in months. ill be sacrificing new pc titles to console games such as super smash bros revolution.

edit: also, it seems everyone was just talking about xbox and ps2 for this generation of consoles, is no one else but me looking forward to nintendo revolution>?

edit2: thanks for reading this, your reward is a picture of a duck-billed platypus

Not a fan of the revolution or Nintendo's younger ages platform. I'll hold out half a year until they debug the xbox360. Might buy a computer over x-mas, but i'm really looking forward to ps3.

Werd up to the platypus.

I used to be a hardcore PC gamer. Then Video Cards started getting retardedly expensive, so I become a console gamer. Now my Xbox is seriously starting to show it's age (NFS:MW was SERIOUSLY Pixelated and Half Life 2 got bloody chunky a LOT) I've started gaming on my PC again, video cards have started to get resonably priced for decent performance. Plus I can't convince myself to spend $500 on an Xbox 360
