^but that statistic is probably wrong. i mean, are they talking one in four children in the world? or are they talking in canada, or the usa or north america as a whole? how did they conduct the survey...where did they get their information?
i wouldn't blindly just assume it's right. as for the children thing: it's not so much that the children don't have money to go out and buy the things they see ads for at the time...but that their minds are so impressionable at that age. most corporations want to make children like their brand so that when they grow up they will continue to buy that brand. hence my mcdonald's targets children so much...you start eating mick dicks when you are a child and you continue that relationship with mick dicks as an adult. there's a marketing industry word for it, i think it's called 'brand loyalty'. |

But my point is, with active parenting and guidance from schools. Even children have the ability to know better now a days. Like I said before , theyre raising awareness about this issue even in classrooms now. i know some people will contrinue to be tricked by crafty marketing, but I don't think its an epidemic of any kind because most people are taught to be objective at a young age. the marketing industry isn't about to let up on advertising aimed at children, so it's up to the parents to explain and educate and provide alternatives. |
