Ed Rush & Optical - Wormhole LP, because it defines everything that I like about drum & bass - it's funky, edgey, mysterious, and so many other good things that are still not found in most drum & bass today.

Have you got any funny/horrific DJing stories?

In New York once, our car burst into flames on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway on the way to a gig in Connecticut the next day. I was unable to get my bag, with all of my clothes in it, back for about 9 days after touring through 7 or so cities.. the car was a complete write-off.

europe is so hot in europe right now... sweating up a storm here...

the parties have been great - the hungarian crew were especially rowdy this time... definitely one of the craziest shows i've done here. vienna was good, cologne was a bit better, and edinburgh was strange because it's in scotland but almost everyone was polish, but nice turnout. it was also good to hear phace play again.

managed to get some studio time in with chris.su, xplorer & dee pulse, and hopefully some others, as well...

Nightfall Recordings:
Pacific and i are still in the midst of finalizing tunes for the launch of our drum & bass vinyl label. so far the tunes that ARE finished (and have been passed out to just a few people) have seen support from Pendulum, Ed Rush, Bulletproof, Black Sun Empire, Gridlok, State Of Mind, Loxy, Mayhem, The Upbeats, and probably more. the tracks tore it up on my last tour of Europe which has been a big motivator for us to get things rolling soon!

other forthcoming stuff:
'Shadowpath', a collaboration with Swiss producer Axiom, is forthcoming on Mayhem's Atlanta-based Shadow Law Recordings. the flipside is by Optiv & Axiom and is currently in the works. 'Break In', a collaboration with Axiom and Optiv (frontman for Cause 4 Concern, who have just re-united and written an entire album), is the sampler for DSCI4's "Spy Technologies 5: Codename Echelon" album. 'Evil Genius' is forthcoming Syndrome Audio's "Syndrome Down" album, also featuring music by Bulletproof, Dose, Axiom, Subtone, and Catacomb (last 2 are also Canadian producers =). a while back i had a track called 'Roadrage' which got some play, was signed and dropped by a couple labels, and eventually got a bit old, so i redid it and decided to save it for Nightfall. recently i decided to give that version a rework and will be releasing it as 'Roadrage 2007' on Syndrome Audio, with 'Exhale' by N.Phect & Rawtekk on the flip. the original won't be released.

other random forthcoming bits: 'Ready To Roll' on Shadow Law (exclusive on a CD release), 'Spirit Quest' on Cymbalism LTD, 'Thin Ice' on Dark Asylum, 'Line Of Sight' (collaboration with Bulletproof & Dose) on Bulletproof's forthcoming album on Cyanide, 'Callback'/'Full Moon' (featuring the vocals of Hadley Poole on both) on Vancouver label Capella, 'Tech 9' on Project 51 (still need to write a flip for this), 'Trespass' on Incite (same here), and various collaborations in the works with Mindscape, Jade, Chris.SU, Xplorer & Dee Pulse, Teknik and Menace.

Influenza/Epidemic stuff:
recently released on Epidemic is Influenza 'Ambush'/'Anomaly'. next up is our track 'Looking Glass' with a remix from Australian producer Heretik who has been blowing it up lately. after that, expect more singles from Projectiles, Influenza and Heretik, as well as another Influenza remix for Spanish label Selekta Breaks. there is also definitely NOT a bootleg of 'Whoomp! (There It Is)' coming. *cough*

Wow I just realized it's been a year since I did an update on here.... here's what's going on with my music these days for those that are interested :D

Currently my main focus is Nightfall Recordings, the new drum & bass label Pacific and I have been setting up over the last couple years.

Nightfall 001 finally came out in the last couple months and consisted of two Psidream & Pacific tracks "Runway" and "Without A Trace" which received regular support from Ed Rush, Pendulum, and tons more.. these tracks were selected specifically with the label sound in mind and set the stage for the evolution of the Nightfall sound.

Nightfall 002 was a bit more dancefloor-focused with a solo track of mine "Death Sentence" which was exclusively featured on Dieselboy's recent mix CD "Substance D" and supported by many other top DJ's in the game.. the flipside was a collaboration I did with New Zealand up-and-comers Dose, Teknik & Menace who have secured their spot as some of NZ's brightest new stars with releases on Renegade Hardware, Project 51, Commercial Suicide, Soul:r, etc. 002 is on promo now with full release coming very soon.

003 is another Psidream & Pacific 12" with "Throwback" (originally slated for Andy C's Nightlife 4 mix CD, but due to unforseen circumstances didn't make the cut) and "Fasttrack", both receiving heavy support as well. These are going off to master in the next week and should see an early-fall release.

001 will be up on Beatport and various other MP3 sites soon with the next releases to be released shortly after.

Other things to look forward to, in regards to Nightfall, are a collaboration that we've just finished with Concord Dawn as well as most likely a remix of "Runway" - can't say who is doing it just yet but it'll be a good one ;)

We've also been dabbling in the realms of house & electro, so once we finish those tunes we will hopefully be able to manage a release shortly after. I've also just done a dubstep collaboration with local faves Daega Soundsystem who have been throwing some pretty nice underground parties lately!! I would expect some more collaborations to come of this in the near future.. as for Influenza/breaks stuff, we haven't really had the chance to work on breaks for months aside from a couple bootlegs and the odd remix. Jason has been busy busting out some electro stuff under the guise 21 Grams so keep watch.

- collab w/ Axiom "Shadowpath" forthcoming on Shadow Law
- collab w/ Bulletproof & Dose "Line Of Sight" recently released on Bulletproof's smashing LP "Dark Times | Desperate Measures" on his label Cyanide - also features collabs with Phace, Gridlok, Mindscape, Teknik and more, plus a few killer dubstep tunes on the CD!
- "Vigilante"/"Cypher" will be released as a 12" on Concord Dawn's Uprising Records in the next few months
- "Insecure", a collab with Pacific, was slated for release on Citrus for the sampler of their next album "Juice Blender 2 - Food For The Dogz" which features a huge line-up of various artists including Axiom, Ryme Tyme, Mindscape, Vicious Circle, Bulletproof, Dose, Teknik, Chris.SU, Cern, Black Sun Empire, Catacomb and Morebeat.
- "Break In" a collab with Optiv & Axiom was released recently as the sampler for the next DSCI4 LP as well
- "Oblivion" came out recently on Disturbed (another in-house label from distributor Triple Vision who handle Nightfall releases as well as run labels Syndrome Audio, Citrus, Fokuz, Symptom, etc)

Might be more, but I'm at work, so I can't remember all of em right now :P
