People always assume you have to have money to be stylish. You dont.

I think that putting together an outfit that makes you feel good, is flattering (and doesnt offend too many people) I think you are on the right path.

I agree with the pants over dresses remark. This is hardly ever pulled off right (leggings excluded tho, I'm a big fan of those).

Other than that, you are just hating on what you are either too afraid to try, or what you would look ridiculous in. And that's fine if it's the former, not everyone can rock what comes to trend, but the negativity is only hurting you! People are gonna go on rocking things that are not your cup of tea (for whatever reason), so why worry? I used to have a lot of fashion pet peeves, but I realised people are still going to dress terribly (IMO). The only person I worry about looking good is me.

Tube tops are OK as long as they are not super tight all the way down. I can't STAND those ones, they look like they were straight up pulled out of 1991.

For a night out on the town I LIVE in tube tops - ones that are an A-line look faaaaabulous on pretty much everyone, and the ones that are tight at the top and bottom and flowy in between are a dream come true for my body type!

all about skinny jeans.. i hated them at first, but after i invested in a pair of leather rider style boots they look amazing with skinnys. i hate girls who wear tight fitted boots with jeans and the jeans are all crumpled up..U HAVE to have skinny jeans so it tucks in nicely. hmmm....as for trendyness i try to put one foot in the trend while letting my own style/comfort take control... i love all the colors/patterns on clothes right now, but i know what i cant pull off (esp extra flowly on the tummy shirts... i just swim in them). i have to go out and purchase some "marigold" items for work.... yay time to look like a mustard bumble bee.

and yes to be stylish u dont have to have to spend lots...layer what you have and it can be the hip and cool thing. there are tons of bargain stores nowadays and they carry trendy stuff too.... not the best material out there, but hey.. its a "trendy item" it will be out of style in a few months. Wash your clothes properly and they will stay in shape.

I love the skinnys. I have scrawny, long legs so they work for me. But I almost always wear them cuffed with ballet flats, otherwise I feel like my legs go on forever!

i would do ballet flats, but only black ones w/ business clothes, because some of us don't like wearing high heels with skirts. big handbags are good if you're carrying your lunch with you. ha
