I am all legs and very little torso. Even so-called "low rise" jeans come up to my belly button and make me feel and look ridiculous. I'll NEVER wear anything higher than a 7.5" rise - unless I grow a few inches or become ridiculously skinny. And we all know that option a is impossible and option b is almost as impossible considering my weekly ice cream consumption is probably equal to the yearly ice cream consumption of the average person.

super low rise jeans are not flattering to most girls.. you have to have a certain body type to pull it off properly (very long legs and hips!)
natural waist (the little dip that forms when you bend sideways) is supposedly the most flattering because it draws the eye up higher before breaking on the waist band which helps make your legs look longer... =/
personally... i cant wear super low rise. not only am i asian with no hips, im short and the rise is too much. it never fits and i end up showing more than just my ass crack while my thighs can barely breath.
i hate that feeling of sitting down and worrying if your flashing everyone behind you your ass.!
i cant wait for higher waisted things to come back..

Always going to be super low rise. I have the same problem as Natalie. I have long legs and not not much of a torso, finding jeans that hit below my bellybutton is hard. I am would not touch them with a ten foot pole. You have to be skinny, tall and have a torso that can handle having a jean come up that high to pull those off.

Ok, I luv the highwaisted sailor jeans, but I am having a hard time finding them in stores. I don't like buying jeans on-line because they never fit well. Does anyone know which stores (if any) carry them, oh yeah I live on Van. Isl. :wondering:

I have seen them look good on models, have tried on a few pairs and been HORRIFIED at the result. Couldn't peel them off myself fast enough. I supposedly have the ideal body for them and yet they never look right on.

I haven't been out shopping lately, so I don't know who does or doesn't carry them, but your all around best bet for jeans in Vic is Rebel Rebel on lower Johnson St. You should also check out all the other radtastic boutiques on loJo (Still Life, Addiction, Suasion, North of Wednesday, Mysi, etc) because they're the most likely places to carry them.

Those stores can all be quite expensive though,so if you're on a budget check out Decade (on Government b/t Johnson and Pandora) and Mango's (corner of Broad and Johnson). Mango's always has a reduced denim rack with an extra 50% off!
