::EarthDance Vancouver:: Sept.16th::
::Earthdance, the largest global dance event in the world, began as a vision within the pyramid of Giza when Chris Decker (of Medicine Drum, the tribal trance band) sat in the kings chamber in meditation. He saw dancefloors around the world uniting for peace.
It began to unfold in 1996 with a goal of raising funds for peace in Tibet. Soon afterwards the Dalai Lama humbly suggested that there are many causes which may benefit from the funds other than Tibet. The main categories considered include children, indigenous peoples & the environment:: For more info on the global Earthdance visit www.earthdance.org. It's definitely going to be awesome and for a great cause. Everyone should check it out. The focus for Earthdance 2006 is the honouring of indigenous and modern elders in all nations.
For those of you who won't be in Van we are having an Earthdance up in Kamloops as well. So if you are in the area...come on out. Our details are here: http://www.fnk.ca/board/showthread.php?t=99546 I've been involved since '98 and it gets better every year. Dancing in Stanley Park on a beach...what a beautiful way to show your support for peace! |
