Prozac Jess
I have a Telus question.
I cancelled my contract with Telus and sold my phone to James. When we went to go get the phone taken off my account and put on his they charged me 25 dollars. They put a "dummy" phone on my account or something and I havent been using it. I dont have the phone they added to my account and the guy at the little stand in COQ Center said I wouldnt be charged. Do I call Telus or can I just go into a store to have them credit my account? I dont know what to do :( <3 |

Hm, I'm not sure I understand. They had to dummy out your account in order to free up the serial number so they could give the nokia to James. And charging you $25 is pretty standard.
So what's the deal? If your contract is cancelled, and you paid $25 to transfer the phone to James? You want that $25 back? |

Yes, the guy who took the IMEI off my account told me I wouldnt have to pay the fee to switch it. Then he charged me anyways.
My account is closed. I dont have the phone he switched to. Im not using any phone on the account. I want my 25 bux back LOL |

You're not making any sense. OF COURSE you don't have that phone. It's probably an old broken piece of a phone anyways. Whether you're using it right now or not, what you paid for was the equipment exchange, IE the work/paperwork/programming involved in moving the phone over to James' account. That's a standard Telus charge.
Of course, I could have done it (in your apartment or mine) for free, but there's no way around it once you've been informed that you would be charged and then agreed and went along with the process in a store. edit: oh he said he wouldn't charge... |

^once a fee has been charged it's out of the store's hands. They won't be able to get in to take the charge off.
My advice is: call customer service, press 1 for english and zero a couple times to skip the stupid automated system. Then VERY NICELY explain to the rep that the salesperson who did your equipment exchange promised you wouldn't be charged and now you've been charged and is there any way they can fix it for you. |

You can renew early when you hit 6 months to the end of you contract (if you where on a 2 or 3 yr contract) or 3 months before (if you were on a 1yr contract). Sometimes there are deals available as so if you want to move from a PCS phone to a data device whereas you can sign a completely new 3 year contract - I'd phone customer service first before going to a dealer about this one. One note that on data devices you need to have voice & data plan so depending on what features you plan to use on the phone this could end up costing more. They can not tack on to whatever you have left, as by law the longest they can contract you for is 3 years. One note that on data devices you need to have voice & data plan so depending on what features you plan to use on the phone this could end up costing more. Telus has flexible share plans where by you each have your own 'plans' and but one can dip into the others minutes if necessary - again I'd call customer service to discuss. I'm not sure if these plans are good on data devices, as again, you would need to get a data plan on top of it. |
