check out the video linked here: Palin Didn't Know Africa Is A Continent, Says Fox News Reporter (VIDEO) republicans are going to regroup and realize that in order to have a chance in 2012, they need to appeal to a broader group of people. don't forget that for a lot of ppl, being republican has to do with fiscal and (lack of) government policies first, social or religious ones second. the republican party was founded by abraham lincoln, who believed in the anti-slavery movement. i don't think they're bad people, just out of touch with the present state of america. i think that within the next four years, the party will figure out how to appeal to the large percentage of moderates within the party who were largely ignored this year. if they want to win in 2012, that is. |

Hypothetical scenario:
You have a country where people have lost all faith in their government, despise the current administration, and have started to figure out that things aren't quite what they were raised to believe them to be. Solution: Run a blatant monster as a candidate for the currently ruling party, who, if he does sway the popular vote (or rather, demonstrate in advance polling that the public would be willing to believe that he won legitimately), basically acts as a final indicator that said public is fully under the thumb and willing to go along with any insanity. Run as his opponent a man of a visible and vocal minority, fairly articulate despite being willing to change his tune in a heartbeat, who by contrast with his opponent will seem like a blessing from heaven by the standards of any remotely sane human being. Outcome: While everyone is thanking the stars that things could have been worse, keep on doing what you're going to be doing anyways, and when situations don't really change that much except for how they're spun, well, people will talk about how change takes time, and even if nothing much happens, things could have been worse. I suppose if I were the American public, I'd be happy for the change of being f*cked by a black man, just for the novelty factor, but then again getting f*cked by Hillary would have been a change of pace as well. I gotta call 'em as I see 'em. (Anyone ever hear of the Council on Foreign Relations? It's a close relative of the Trilateral Commission) |

It's usually like that. Obama actually got the highest percentage of the overall (of a Democrat) vote since LBJ in 1964.
