^do you know how hard it is to secure a bed in a drug treatment center?
It took me about 7 months of sitting on a waiting list WITH A COURT ORDER in order to get into a juvenile drug treatment center when i was 14...so that would have been 1998...I can only imagine what its like for adults now seeing as tho how much the government has cut back thier funding in medical, welfare, etc etc etc etc. I didnt say the government forced anyone to drugs. I implied that the government is filled with a bunch of crooked bastards that could really care less about the welfare of people who are living on the poverty line or below it. and if what I say is not true then care to explain to me how these cut backs the government has made...mainly affecting those less fortunate...wanna tell me EXACTLY HOW these cutbacks are helping those people???? |

Which is a shame. The thing you need to udnerstand is that, either way our tax dollars are being spent. If not to rehabilitate someone, but to persecute someone for thieving or what have you to support thier drug habits. I think itd leave a better taste in my mouth knowing that my tax dollars are being "wasted" on trying to rehablitate someone as opposed to convicting someone of a crime that they did only in order to feed thier drug addicition further. so yeah. |

Blame yourself for being young and stupid, blame your parents for not kicking your ass, or teaching/scaring you enough in the first place so you'd never do drugs. Yeah, it's sad to see drug addicts, but it all comes down to their CHOICES. You have to be responsible for that which you choose to do! It's a lose/lose situation with government cutbacks and taxes. People fucking bitch when they raise taxes, people fucking bitch when they make cutbacks. The thing that people don't seem to take into consideration is less taxes = cutbacks, period. |

Why be shameful of being young and pregnant?I dont see why someone should be ashamed of getting pregnant. What you need to realize is that it takes alot of fucking balls to have a child,at any age. So instead of belittling these young women,we should show appreciation and acceptance for thier strength and courage. Quote:
I come from a european family. My mother is French/Catholic,my father is Italian/Catholic FOB! I got my ass kicked on a daily basis, its the european way. So,yeah they kicked my ass and they kicked it good, they taught me they scared me did the whole tough love thing but I said IM GOING TO DO WHAT IM GOING TO DO SO FUCK YOU. So they got tired of beating me to a pulp, locking me up,sending me away yadda yadda yadda, and said hey...live and let live. And thats exactly what I did. And Im glad thats how things happened. I wasnt young and stupid,I was young and curious. |

and why arent they exactly ideal? because U think so?... they could've easily decided to give the kid up for adoption or had an abortion.. for them to keep the baby means their ready for the responsibility.. and take action and face their consequences... how do u kno their not ideal?.. do u stay w/ them 24/7..? do u clean their diapers..? do u feed them..? do u goto school AND raise a child..? no! maybe in society's eye their not ideal.. but who is to judge..? my mom's cousin in brazil is about 10 yrs older then his wife... he got married to her at i think she was 15 or they were engaged.. and she had twins at 16/17.. its north america's society that condone's such 'underage parents'. and who r u to say that they dont have fathers..? maybe SOME don't.. but u dunno wut goes on in their lives.. u dunno shit all.. so close ur mouth and stop being ignorent. cuz honestly.. ur sounding like an ignorent moron. |

I have met many many children/teenagers/adults who have come from these ideal families. Many of which had babies, abortions, eating disorders, personality disorders, even full blown drug addictions before they finished highschool. Many of these kid's families were just not very happy at all. These families are portrayed by society as being our "social" role models. There's a reason why they're so perfect: they can hide many imperfections beneath their perfect surface, behind a legal marriage and wed-lock children. They have problems too! You'll just never hear them!! This is a clear representation of how "truth" is being filtered by television, books, religion, psychology/reality shows that cater to the "traditional" ways of living. All these images and stories about out of control kids, being raised by un-wed single mothers, fathered by sleazy and astray husbands, in the slums of the social "underclass"..... is so completely unfair. Things can happen in any family. It doesn't matter what background you come from. We ALL have problems. Look at the divorce rate! People are realising they CAN have a HAPPY and LOVING family, without depending on someone for any help. People should live the way they want to live, and they don't need people forecasting the way their family *will* turn out. |

I still want to cry when I read that. But hey, if she's happy then great. Being a teenager w/ no real worries wasn't that fun anyways. Ps. It's not just North America that feels that way. |
