Today at work we took the kids to my old Flicka Gymnastics school. Its been like 10 years since I climed the beam, swung the bars and jumped into the foam pit... Oh how much I miss it!

Anyways I started talking to one of the coaches who brought to my attention an $8 ADULT drop in class! Its an hour and a half on Wedsdays and Thursday nights.

Im so gonna have to give this go, anyone else intrested?

I slept with a gymnnast from the university of rhode island once.

That basically sums up my gymnastic experience.

rhai what kind of stuff do u do? im no gymnast, but i always wanted to try it out? i just want to work on my body strength for breaking and such.

and ps. you all have sick minds.

I used to go to Flicka when I was a little kid right up to the time I was 15

Bev, if you haven't already, you might also want to try yoga. I've been doing it for a while now, and it really helps strengthen your muscles (to help support your own weight) and limbers you up as well. Good for breaking (not that I do), among other things :)

p.s. Not all gymnasts or dancers are "bendy".

Have you tried figure skating? ballet?
Gymnastics is a combination of grace, flexability, and streagth. So alot like the above yet you get to do those things on funner stuff :D Its tough cus when you go all the girls are like under 12 huge mucles and doing crazy flips etc. Flicka comes pretty close to the Oylipic standards as they have the proper floor, vault, bars, beam,trampoline and foam pit FUN!!! Oh yeah youll need alot of bravery for some things too :P

Adriane and Chrissy... thats so crazy you two girls were in it too!!! I should look back at pictures. Im sure we were in there together at some point. I was enroled in the saturday program 1989-93.


But yeah for $8 thats not a bad deal? We should all plan a night out some time in jan and check it out :)

It sounds like heap good fun, but I tink N.Van is too far for me, and I've already got a hundred million other things going on with work, one-to-one, dance, yoga (i need a new class), and Matt...

SAM, I hope u are feeling better soon girl! Maybe if u go I might come try it - we could carpool! But I know all y'all would roll me at gym. I haven done a back walkover, the splits or even a cartwheel in ages. I can make a bridge in yoga (most times) so that counts for something, right?
