Dear promoters and chach mongers...
hey promoters.. how about next time u decide to throw a big event on a long weekend you dont over sell capaticty so people that bought their tickets 2 months in advance can actually get in without having to pay a 50 dollar per person "get past the bouncer fee"... and also so they dont have to stand there and watch the coupious amounts of idiot chach mongers and their douche bag cookie cutter girlfriends wiesel their way in because they think theyre hot shit or they know the bouncer....thanks to the idiots who bought our tickets for double the price.. and thank you to commdore for having dj heather in the house with a way better crowd and venue.
/end rant. fuckos. Last edited by Veni*C; May 22, 06 at 09:51 AM. |

veni, you say all this like it's a new thing.
some events, you just know that you should show up at 9pm, and bring booze to drink in line because it'll be 2-3 hours before you get in. ps showing your breasts might have gotten you in a bit faster.. LOL |

In all honesty, I can't recall ever going to a club night where I saw lineup issues like this. Raves yes (Imix comes to mind, although I was lucky and scammed in..)... but clubs no.
Time to start taking note and picking better venues/promoters to give your business to. Let the chach/skank audience enjoy their lineup parties. |

promoters can be shady sometimes to get that extra buck. I mean some promoters know that if a shows going to sell out, the ethical question comes to mind if they should oversell tix and rip people off at the door. It's nothing new, but now you know that if that happens again, that there's always some sucker to buy that ticket off you.

Not sure what happened.. I think that might have been a counterfiet ticket issue. Around 4 or 5 in the morning I saw Mark running around and I just asked him casually "how's it goin?".. he had this concerned look on his face, he was like "not so good man... I got like 500 ticketholders outside who haven't been able to get in".
It came as a surprise to me, because I'd got in lickity split VIP thanks to some help.. so I was just partying away, having no idea of the chaos that had been going on outside for hours and hours. |

It is because of things like this I don't ever go to a club or bar on long weekends or holidays. Camping is where its at on weekends like this.
Also, I doubt the promoter sees any of the money the bouncers are scamming at the door. Chances are, if its a very shady club, the manager is taking a cut of that cash also. Standard Vancouver nightclub bullshit. No surprise there. |

I find these days you need to show up at the club around 10:30pm at the latest, unless you want to be dealing with this shit. I showed up around 10:15 and got in with no problems.
It's usually around 11-12:30 that everything goes to hell unfortunately. I don't find it's worth it to even try at that point. It's a shame, but it's the only way I've found to get around the insanity that breaks loose around that time. There are just too many people willing to pay a fuck load of money to get into a club these days. And unfortunately even if the promoters have the best intentions, and are not the ones letting in extra people. They can't control the staff making some cash on the side, or just the general confusion that comes with all the extra people showing up, crowding the front of the line. |
