Both MCs use the same style. Very lyrical, semi punchline rappers with sick flows. Who is better?

Personally I gotta go with Pun

Haha... Big Pun was a serious dude... Crazy flows and wild wordplay.. Big L had nice flows... lots of clever braggin and boastin. Both top class cats imo.

and thats not saying anything bad about Pun....L is just that sick......if you were to rate them roughly....Big L is somewhere around top 3 of all time....and pun's more like top 5-10.

Big L's use of multi syllable rhymes, inner rhymes, wordplay, hilarious similes, story telling etc. is just unparalleled......except for maybe by Lord Finesse, who he basically based his style on.

Puns is a bit more on the serious tip....which is cool....he's got some pretty sick rhymes most of the time, but i don't think he is as consistent, or as outstanding as L

I have heard capital punishment and others. Nah in all honesty they have pretty similar lyrical skill, usually multis and whatnot. L is more punchy/battle rapper, Pun is more like poetic with his lyrics. i wouldn't say their styles are overly similar.

I just prefer L

This is a hard one for me too. I'm going to go with Big Pun on this one because I'm an album guy...and Pun has one of my favourite hiphop albums to date....solid from pretty much front to back.

And for those saying Pun doesn't compete with L lyrically....stop dick riding.

+ Pun sounds like a stuffed up Pug Dog when he raps...so he gets extra points for that.

Yeah it was a sick album but it lacked direction. Just a bunch of songs thrown together. It isn't touching capital punishment...that album was so diverse yet cohesive...it really showcased pun's style and established him as one of the best mc's.
