yeh learning to scratch well is definately something u have to be passionate about like blunted said... i've always been passionate about playing the guitar and learning to mix, and recently i've started getting into scratching it can be pretty daunting at first trying to get basic combo's down, but once u start getting more fluent its so much fun.. its such a crazy feeling to have ur hands create sounds like that...i just got good at the doing the crab scratch, and i can do all the basics as well as transformers and original flares... but i haven't even scratched the surface.. pun not intended... haha

all I can say is that I wish I had my own set of Numark TTX's so I could practise scratching with all my spare time that I spent writing trax or chatting mindlessly or doing the forum thang
it's weird, I can't wrap my mind around actually doing the prescibed scratch methods, but I can still scratch some mad patterns... I wish I knew how to work the fader better with crab stylez tho, that shyte ain't easy! maybe I just need to get a better mixer... but then, I do have a damn decent one (Numark Pro SM-1) Ryan we should get together some time when I'm not poor & busy as hell and u should find my shades haha |
