Hiphop recommendations?
I know absolutely nothing about hiphop, and I haven't heard a whole lot of it. I'm interested in stuff with an underground feel, not necassarily well/over produced.
- Stuff with catchy melodic hooks, sampled strings, etc I just heard this Remix of Ultramatic MCs - Poppa Large with a sweet rhodes piano lick and its inspired me to dig a bit deeper into this genre. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Same boat as you. Not really big into hip hop, but there are a few songs and a few artists I do like.

Are you looking for some inspiration production wise? Catchy melodic loops immediately brings Pete Rock's or Large Professor's beats to mind.
Maybe let me know a few tracks where you liked the beats and I can reccomend lots more stuff.

anyone hating on jay-z must have forgotten about reasonable doubt (dead presidents II feat. Nas being in maybe my top 20 hip hop songs)
i know a lot of his latest stuff has been bland at best but we can't forget that he actually used to be really dope.
