And if he has gone and still feels that way, I stand corrected.

Nope, not I. My reasoning is that I really don't want to be around 14 000 people with drugs in the equation. We, as a species, just don't get along that well.

^you should try it before deciding to never go. not everyone there is on drugs, you'd be surprised at how many sober partiers attend. I'd say the ratio of sober attendees to drunk/high attendees is considerably higher than any other club/rave event i've been to.

i find the festival gets a bad rap from some people who've already been through the experience and will discuss the reasons why they don't want to go anymore instead of discussing all the awesome things that made that attracted them to the event in the first place. I'm sure it's partially because they recognize the negative side of the event but it also has to do with them justifying why they've decided not to attend.

for anyone who's into dance music and has the opportunity to visit southeastern bc, they gotta go to this event atleast once in their life. I don't think i'm making it to shambhala this year, but i'll be back for 2010.

I find that most of the people who tell me it's ridiculous to prefer another festival over Shambhala are the ones that go to Shambhala and get ridiculously fucked up on drugs. Just sayin'

I'll stick to my small island festivals and enjoy a more intimate experience. Just personal preference.
