Worrying to much...

Does anyone else deal with this?

Between school, work, money and the people in my life, it gets to be a lot. I have been drinking tea and stuff before I go to bed to try and not think about shit but it is always at the back of my mind.

Grrr. I havent had a decent sleep in so long.

that's a bleak outlook on adulthood. you have more to worry about potentially, but its all about how you handle it. find a good friend and talk it out, whatever it is might suck but you'll be okay.

also, pick up a drug habit to distract yourself.

You know..I am QUEEN STRESS..and I have let stress rule most of my life..but once I figured out why I was stressed..I fixed those things.

If your not crazy about your job..or even some of your friends..get rid of them because they only provide negative energy. If you party alot..slow down a little because it takes alot of energy away from things you should be doing.

Also you should probably watch alot more greys anatomy =D

I'm with ya :P

Amidst the stress, don't forget what your life priorities and goals are... and do what you have to do to to make it happen.

I've had to remind myself a few times where I am in my life, why I am here, where I want to be and how I plan on getting there... Keeping those things in perspective helps when I get stressed... Granted, sometimes it stresses me out even more, but it's a healthy reality check.

Also, investing in a planner/scheduler of some sort can be really helpful if you have a hectic schedule. I'm still trying to get into the habit of being better at time management..

Balance indeed. You definitely need to eliminate the causes and usually you can fine one root to all your stress, regardless of how it branches off. Figure that out and you should be laughing.

I am a stress bucket, especially with my new job, I took on alot of responsibilities and I am just trying to cope with everything. I find it helps when I write it down on paper, I have a journal for that kind of shit, it helps me just mentally puzzle everything together and I sleep better at night because of it. I guess it also helps to have a positive attitude even when it's really hard. Good luck Kat :)

I just realized why for the last 3 years I have been the absolute most miserable person out there haha I hated my job. I loved the ppl and the money was ok but I was soo stuck in a routine that I didn't want to attempt to change it b/c i was scared. I finally took that step and I got a new job. Bang instant happy Sof. I realize that it is going to take more then that for me to get back my friends and respect from them and my family as well as my boyfriend but it's most definetly a start.

Kat - you are sweetheart and I can tell that you have a very big heart. I use to make everyone else's problems mine b/c I would worry so much about the ppl I loved and cared for and I still do. You actually need to step back and look at NOT how you can fix their problems but how you can just maybe assist them. Less stress on your part and more time for you to concentrate on yourself. The money and school are just part of life hun. Not really any secrets there.

And tea is definetly a good help to sleeping too. Also try a heating pad it works wonders for me.

here's my 2 cents:

worrying breeds nothing but more worrying. it is a useless human charateristic we all have and have to deal with now and again. the only advice i can give you is try to analyze why you worry so much and find a way to make it obsolite. if you worry bout school, chances are that the curriculum is too hard, so study harder. if you are worried about work, chances are you are not satisfied with your work ethic, so work harder and develope a better attitude. if you are worried about money, chances are you don't make enough or you are spending to much of it, so get another job or be more cautious with how you spend your money.

being worryed about all of these things will never solve your problems, they will only stengthen conflict inside you and nothing will change. realizing what needs to be done and doing it is alot better than occuping you attention to everything negative and dwelling on it.

good luck to you kat. things will be alot better once you get perspective on what you need to do. =)

That's what happens when you start finding hair where there use to be none, maybe growing a bit taller, finding your boobs might be growing bigger, and trying to figure out what these weird urges are you've never had before with the opposite sex... LOL!

But as for sleeping at night.:
You know what it might be? Its the tea! or the "other stuff" you drink. Some tea's can actually keep you up at night.

I used to worry and stress out all the time. Then I worked in a rape and suicide crisis center. Ever since then I realize that my problems aren't so big.

If you don't want to do that though, my brother gave me two good ways to think about problems:

1) Ask yourself: How much will this matter in a month? two months? a year? 5 years from now? Answer is that it usually doesn't.

2) Think about your problem then think about how much it matters to the people in your house, then your town, then the province, then country, the world, the universe? Still have a big problem? The answer should be no.

balance.

that's what it all comes down too.

you need to prioritize and keep things balanced.

i drive myself crazy with school and work and life in general. sometimes i need moments to just release pure crazyness to get it out and make myself feel better (and it always helps to have someone around who will let you do so and not take it to heart).

i find having some guaranteed time set aside every week to get away from everything REALLY helps. even if it's only an hour or two every week, my dance class is my sanctuary. it's always there, i can go relax and not think of everything else. just let go of the day, and have fun. and whenever i get back i feel better about everything.. even if it's going right home to study! some weeks i can get more classes in, others i can't. but i always have that minimum of 1 hour, and it really helps balance things out for me.

balance is VERY important to me (it's even tattooed on my body :P)

ps - like it was said above, watch for the teas. there are lots that are caffeinated.

I've had this problem before.
It's not the things you worry about that you need to deal with.
It's the mental cycle of worry equaling more worry that a person needs to stop.

Worrying becomes a mental habbit that becomes hard to break.
Our mind is the most malleable part of our body. People can train it in any number of ways.

I just started refusing to worry about things (hard at first easier later)
and I also refused to think up things that could possible happen to worry about.
