The More You Know

Hey I know it can be a real drag going to school everyday, but look at it this way:
Every day you show up you're one day closer to graduating, one day closer to a diploma that's gunna help you get a good job.
So don't think of school as a real bummer, think of it as a real future.
With all the things you need to let you live large, keep this in mind to get you through the tough days: The more you get your butt to class, the further you're gunna get when you graduate.

I don't see it as that way...

you have to take into consideration what's out there on the job market and whether or not a degree in whatever particular faculty is worth anything.

personally, I think knowledge itself is more important to me than just graduating. it took me a while to realize that I loved going to school to learn more than I did going to school just to finish and graduate.

anyways, one thing I learned in life is the more you know, the more you know how much you don't know.

oh the irony :)

life gives you a much better education than school does, and school does not prepare you for life outside of school, at least that's what i've learned since i finished. but then i again i hated school.

Sykonee will become famous soon enough
Probably the most important thing I learned while at university is that a diploma is no guarantee of a job. I probably learned more about business operation in one year of running a store than I ever could while attending four years worth of courses. Employers want experience more than knowledge.

Still, I'd love to go back and take some more courses for the hell of it. I probably have about 60 years of life left and there's still a lot of things I can learn about the world. Discovery and TLC just don't quite cut it compared to burying your nose in a good book. :500:

I didn't realize how much I loved school and learning until it was almost too late.

I'm now looking forward to getting my BSc, MS and...

And hey this was just a commercial that I saw on tv from a few years ago...ya know those things with the famous ppl saying stuff to get you motivated and stay in school and don't do drugs and then there'd be a shooting star at the end and on the bottom it says The More You Know..yaa :)

I agree with you that school doesn't prepare you for life, but school helps you organize a big portion of your life and gives you a direction, that in the long run should make life a lot easier to manage.... Even if it teaches you that school isn't for you, there are other ways to educate yourself, or get educated.

"knowledge is king" (was that stussy or something?? I dunno.. I read it on a t-shirt somewhere)
