hmmm after reading ur situation i have come to this conclusion:

I can guarantee u that Shanghai will have lots of hot chicks! (although I've heard many are snobby ova there...) u just gotta be outgoin, and u will meet someone good. if ur movin to shanghai... it's a totally new and fresh start for a new life.

if u dont remember me, my name is ken (friend of Jimboski)... we've talked for a bit b4 at PO and insomnia.

straight up... i can tell u that I've been in the EXACT same situation a few yrs bak. I had met my first love (a Jap girl), and we got together in a serious relationship. But in the end, we both knew it was gonna be over because she was suppose to move bak to Tokyo for university... and I was either gonna stay in Canada or go to the States (where I am now). So let me give u a brief overview: Met her in August 2000, Started goin out Sept 2000, but July 2001 she's bak to Tokyo for pretty much the rest of her life! In the end... we broke up around April/May 2001. I think the main reason is cuz we both knew that we had to continue on w/ our lives... there's no way two college students could sustain a LD relationship for almost 4 yrs+, only seeing each other a month or two out of the whole yr. But now its March 2003... and sad to say... she was the best and worst thing that ever happened to me. I loved her to death when we were together... but she has been in the back of my mind for the longest fuckin time ever since! I mean... if I had to a chance to be w/ her again... I would take it up in a second. But it's unlikely that it'll ever be like dat.

So u gotta ask urself which one u would rather have: u can pursue a potentially awesome relationship for 5 months and try ur best to sustain it LD, but most likely it will end once u move... and u will be thinkin bout this girl for a LONG ASS time because u still feel u will have unfinished business to take care of. OR... u can pass up this girl... and see what surprises await u in ur new life in shanghai.

keep in mind that a lot of this stuff applies because we're all young ppl. young ppl tend to want things right NOW, instead of seeing the big picture in life, which older ppl tend to do. however... i have learned that since we are still young, sometimes its ok to want things now, because young ppl should have plenty of fulfilling experiences to enjoy b4 they're too old to enjoy them. me, personally... i have come to the conclusion that i will move on w/ my life and enjoy the rest of the world beyond that Jap girl. Yet since I have a bit more wisdom now than I did a few yrs bak... I am finally aware that many yrs down the road, I could get bak together w/ my first love because many things will have changed. i used to think this was impossible, but then i realized it was the young fella inside of me thinking this... not the older wiser me. hehe... if u have read this far, i hope this helps u a little bit at least! good luck

few years.....yeah that answers youre question....for one thing....even if you wanted to wait for her.....youre talkin years...not months......she's young and so are you...but i guarantee when you get back she hasn't been waiting for you....at least not in the way youd like....and if you were waiting for her at the same time......pfft...what were thinkin.....*thats what i would say once you told me*
