losing your dog

after 13 years, i never expected this to come so soon where i had to say goodbye for good to my dog who had to be put down 2 days ago. its amazing how even a dog can be such a close companion, and how much sadness can come to not have such a close companion around anymore to greet you at the door when you come back from a long day... not having him jump up and down on the front door to go for a walk, and just to be there to make you smile again when you're in a bad mood.....

i guess it was for the good to put him down because he was very sick and to see him die slowly from disease would of been horrible for him to go through.... its just hard to face hes not around anymore.... i miss him. i got 2 cats as well but they just dont compare to how close i was with with my dog.....

i hear ya man. people who never had a dogjust don't understand. they're always there and the idea of it is very comforting. but form u're description of the situation, i agree that it's for the better.

I know what you mean.
That's one of the reasons I like dogs more than cats. They have so much personality, and can sometimes be like small people.

I also know how it is to deal with their diseases. My dog is epileptic. It's hard to see her go through that, and she's on medication now to prevent it.. but the medication is slowly killing her. She's 10 now and I know she's only got a few years left..

Dogs are really great. They become so close.. they're always there for you when your sad, even if all they have to offer is a lick on the hand.

Sorry you had to lose your dog, but i'm sure he is happier to be out of the pain..

i've lost 4 cats, but only 1 dog and it was very sad!

It is sad, but you are so lucky to have had a faithful companion like that around for so long!

We never got to take him on a walk :(

I'm so sorry to hear about this...if you're ever going through doggie withdrawal, come by my work and I can introduce you to the office dog that I'm crazy about! :)

^hehe doggie withdrawl.... thanks mei la i didnt expect Max to have to go so soon..... but i really do feel it was for the better and something out there is telling me deep down that hes in a better place and not suffering anymore =)

he was a really loyal dog who always stood up for us (hahaha thats why he hated everyone else except for me and the rest of the people in my house.....)

ah man i miss him.. this house is so quiet now without him.

i just lost my dog in june. It's funny that i say just when it happened in june but i know what you're going through. i had my dog since i was 2
