Yeah I know how it is.
Two days before my sixteenth birthday, I got in a really bad car accident. Before that I was planning on getting my learner's and getting to drive because I could have done all this just before graduated liscensing had taken effect. Unfortunately, the car accident really screwed me up and I was too scared to even go in a car, I got paranoid and nervous. It really screwed me up. I'm 21 without a liscense! ha. Now I live in the city and it seems fairly impratical for me to get a car because everything is either within walking distance or a short busride away..transiting to work is even much faster than driving...however, I most definitely regret not getting my liscense. :/ |

You'll get over the fear if you just keep on driving and be aware of your surroundings.
My last car was eViL and got into 13 accidents... only one was my fault. Of the 12 accidents 10 of them were rear enders. I got back into the car and gripped the wheel with white knuckles for months until I got my confidence back. Now I own a big SUV and fear NOTHING!!! :c-tard: Well... except a bigger SUV but I can see them coming at me. |

I wuz nervous driving when I 1st got my license but now, I'm a lot more conflident which is good. I just really like 2 know where I'm going at all times, I hate it when I'm in an area that I don't know very well. That still kinda makes me alittle on edge but hopefully that'll pass soon 2.

I got into an accident a month after I got my car (I'd had my license for a few years already). I rear ended a guy because there had been a big van in between us who decided to change lanes while speeding and not signaling, and when he changed lanes I slammed on the brakes because there was a car stopped waiting to turn in front. It was dark out, and the roads were wet. My brakes locked and I slid into the back of the car, not very hard at all. There was very little damage to my car, and none to the guys car, but his bumper was falling off(it was falling off before the accident, but they gave him a new one anyways). It wasn't a bad accident, but very traumatic. The guy had his grandson in the car and he had run home to tell his grandma, and the grandma called 911...there was about a dozen firetrucks that came, half a dozen cop cars, and a bunch of ambulances--all for a rear ender! THAT was the most traumatic thing because it wasn't a bad accident at all, but they made it seem like it was.
But I got right back into my car and drove away fine. Night driving IS the worst and this accident just made me more cautious while driving at night. -desiree |

i'm very confident in my driving abilites, (i've managed to avoid several accidents in my 7 months of driving... well 13 if u count learners, but i dont) i'm just terrified of some cars that i drive. seriously guys, just get a car with GOOD suspension, steering, tires and brakes and driving will become safe again. til u decide the engine is a little underpowered and wut could happen if i get a bigger one...

Driving for over a year, and no accidents, no tickets yet (some parking fuckups, car VS pillar the pillar always wins).
And believe me, I am a pretty shitty driver (KandyKid can attest to that. He's told me that by his count I should have gotten into some pretty nasty bangups atleast a dozen times). Not that I'm proud of it...I'm too aggressive on the road. Sometimes the only thing I feel that's holding me back from getting too clutch happy is the fact my car is a 96 4door firefly and couldn't drive that fast even if it wanted to. If I did get in an accident though, my car would get absolutely torn apart, like toilet paper. I just got a CD/MP3 deck in my car 2 weeks ago, and boy is this thing a distraction. I find that when I'm flipping through a CD full of MP3's, I tend to veer off into the other lane when I'm trying to read the track titles. I have a bad feeling about this... |

hahaha its not a cheap car =) its an audi as well so you gotta go through special places that handle german and other luxery cars... the costs for parts and services for an audi, mercedes, jag are pretty overwhelming.... definetly not cool to crash em so yeah good thing i didnt fuck that car up! but i know theres more damage that went down after that kid rear ended me since he was going pretty ridiculously fast on a busy intersection with car lined up to the end. prolly was trying to beat a red light on the right lane..... kid only had his license for a few months as well but i couldnt just let him off with all the damage done. He also happened to be korean so his mom kept calling me begging that i let em off easy (she offered $500 bucks to fix the car and take the rest... uh fuck that shit theres no way the damage is only 500 bucks on a fuckin audi)... then she started to blame me that i must of stopped all of a sudden? hahaha fuck i hate it when people try to pull that kinda shit. so yeah, it was icbc, fixed the bumper and that was that |

helps to know where the buttons are without looking.. or just get a remote and stick it on the wheel.... definetly useful... but not really necessary |
