Loft 6
What a fucking mess. This really bothers me, and for many reasons. The act in the first place. Whatever caused it, (gangs or who knows, most likely drug related), its just wrong that innocent people had to be hurt and killed for some pathetic non-reason. Its pointless, it really is.
There are some things that make this dig a bit deeper. Firstly, I know one of the guys who was shot. He got hit in the legs twice, and might not walk again. I work with his mother and sister sometimes. A really nice guy. Wrong place, wrong time. Damnit... Two of my friends know victims or people who were there. Also, my brother is the kind of guy who used to and still might go to such clubs. I worry for him sometimes, cause he is rash and well....an idiot. I can easily see him in the wrong place at the wrong time. |

Innocent bystanders who get killed during these tragic events are what hurt the most. My prayers go out to all the family and friends involved.
I must say though, I hope this doesn’t cause city hall to revoke the 4am closure of clubs. This was just one accident and it shouldn’t be taken out on the majority of clubbers who enjoy the 4am closure. For all of you people, who are now afraid to attend clubs, don’t be afraid. There is nothing to be afraid of. Even though this is tragic, shit like this does occur. Vancouver is a big city ya know. Maybe its time for tougher searches at the door. Hell maybe its time for metal detectors and ID scanning at the door. Unfortunetly the world we live in can be violent at times. :soak: |

things like this are hard to control... theres always beef going around in crowded clubs, mostly over girls.
maybe if clubs enforced strict guestlist only entry to their busy nights, they would at least have more control over rival gangs bumpin into each other |

One of the guys shot just came from LA to hold a special sesh at the Harbour Dance Center. He's absolutely amazing...I really hope that he heals well and the injuries don't affect his dancing career long term. The center is going to hold a fundraiser for him. I'll update you guys with more details when I find out!

after working at a club where there was a shooting while i was working, hearing about loft six made me sick. i know quite a few people who work there and they all happen to be people i used to work. and they had to go through this twice. people told me that I shouldnt quit just because of the shooting, and that it could happen anywhere. but im beginning to wonder if things will ever change. and in all honesty, if someone really wants to bring a gun to a club..im sure they will find a way. you can't strip search everyone as they walk in. ask me if i feel safe in clubs...no...but you can't walk down the street thinking that everyone is going to pull a gun out. its just those idiotic people who make it seem that way.

its sad that people have to resort to killing others. there has to be something mentally wrong there ... at least i think. i mean since when is a good ass kicking not enough to teach someone a lesson? you have to kill the person, and that accomplishes nothing? it doesnt show that you are a stronger person. it proves that you have no self control.

im really disturbed and pissed off by this because i heard that the kid killed on the stop was yugoslavian.. and he was probally a friend of a friend of mine...
people kill other people because they do not know any better.. they're perceptions of life and such are blurred and consumed with pointless hate created by propaganda.. if u wanna know what im talkin bout watch American History X.. |
