is it plausible for two adult kitties .....
to move into together
My kitty has never ever been around other cats and she's like 14 years old - but still full of life...and sharp ass claws she and I have been living on our own- but I'd like to get a roomie so that i could jump on that crazy bandwagon for Savings accounts One of my best friends needs a place and a roomie too ..but she comes with a big three year old male cat (fixed) who loves to bite and stuff I'm scared he would bully my poor kitty and that they'd have nasty nasty fights but she and I make perfect roomates - and i feel ridiculous not moving in over our cats (and neither one of us will send our kitties elsewhere) And Any of you F&K cat experts have any ideas..or think maybe they could live peacefully.....or how long it might take for peace |

obviously they are gonna beat the shit out of eachother for the first few months...but then they will learn to love eachother and soon enough they will be cuddling and bathing eachother. Ur kitty may take on the maternal role to the younger kitty. Itll definately be an experience:) My doggy:(when i had her became a momma to my kittys when I had kittys. It was very cute. So i figure if a crotchity old doggy is capabale of loving kittys then its capabel thata crotchity old kitty can love a young kitty!

It's possible for sure to bring two adult cats into the same home. It's even better if you both will be moving in at the same time (so neither feels the other is taking over their territory).
My sister moved into a home where there was already a 10 year old female cat - she has a one year old male kitty, they faught for a while but became friends who kept eachother company with in a couple months. I just recently inherited a room mate with a kitty. We both have kitty's who are female and quite young (around 4 years old). They both have claws and are fairly feisty. Yes they fight from time to time - but for the most part they are fine together. |

with my experience we got a second cat after the other one was about a year old. oreo definatly dominated and put wally in his place at first, then they became friends. now they are both kinda crotchity old cats... and wally is a little bigger then oreo and he wins the fights... usually you can tell a friendly fight from a serious fight. but mostly they enjoy each others company.

well speaking from experience. sorta. i say just do it, cause eventually they are gonna hafta get along. they have no choice. they may fight for a few weeks, maybe a month, then they will make certain areas "their" space, and then just co-exist, with the occasional fight (probly like the mini arguments you might yourself have with a roomate:p)
i moved into a house where we all have kittys, and they had all previously been only kittys,...and boy did my cat like to fight. now shes mellowed out. 2 of the cats, still dont get along, and they seperate them as much as possible. but other than that. i think it should work out, because well. it has too. in the end, they depend on you for food and survival. just make sure you keep their food dishes seperate, but if they end up eating out of eachothers that is fine, but just actually having them, makes a difference. and same goes with litter. good luck. |

Yeah that card's not cool!! Anyway, I had a 4 year old female cat and we got a male kitten. At 1st my older kittie wanted nothing 2 do with him. But after awhile, she warmed up 2 him. I'm not saying they were the greatest of friends but they did get along which wuz awesome.

when my kitty was 1, we got another female cat who was 5. they realy didnt like eachother and the older one became the scared and beat up one. its been 6 years and they still fight and dont like each other, but they live with eachother. My advice is give it a try, every cat/situation is different.
