"I Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch

does anyone here ever remember reading that book as a little kid? it's the sweetest book ever...

it's about that mother who loves to rock her son back and forth while he's asleep and sing that song that goes:

I love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
as long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be....

anyways... I haven't read that book in like 12 years and I read it at a classmate's house (she has a one year old daugher) recently. it was enough to almost bring tears to my eyes... perhaps it's just a hormonal thing.. but does anyone else love this book as much as I do?

yeha i rmember that book..i love it..

that book really makes me feel good inside. i couldnt see how any parent would read that without getting a tear in their eye.

sean: yeah, I watched it! it was actually a combination of "friends" and actually reading the book when I was at a classmate's house for a group project.

I told Kevin how sweet the book was, but he made fun of me for being such a girl. :(

i love the ending when the son ends up singing it to his mother.

even as a kid it was pretty darn moving.

None of you may know yet but the joy of sharing something like that with your own child is amazing.

I've shared that story with my son a few times... it makes you realize how important a little life can be... especially when you're the one responsible for it.

I used to have a little joke with my son where I'd tell him that I loved him to the moon and back and he would always answer "Well I love you all the way to Africa"

He must have thought Africa was pretty far.

My mom cries and cries when she reads that story - She used to have tears running down her cheeks while she read it to my brother

Whenever I see that book it makes me think of my mom - and I know that eventually when I have little Maryah's of my own there will be tears streaming down my cheeks when i read it to them :)

Tht is such a sweet book. My parents discovered it when me and my sisters were younger, and loved it so much they bougth each of us a copy. I'm definately going to pass it on to my children.

my mom used to read me that, and she bought the book for me again as part of my grad present... and on the inside of the watch she bought me, she ingraved "ill love you forever my baby you'll be"

that book was good, but i never really welled up, didnt reflect anything i could relate to, it definately now makes me a little fuzzy inside but "oh the places you will go" by dr.seuss made more sense to me.

In one of my classes this semester we had to read in front of the class about something that is very important to us. One of the girls read that book to us, and at the end of the story all of the girls (and a few guys) had tears running down our faces.

It's such a good children's book.

OMG! I never saw this post. I love this book. whenever my mom goes away on a trip she says that line to me well and in every christmas card i get too. :kimmie: that was the most touching childrens book I have ever read and had read to me. robert munsch writes the best books. haha and yes wentworth those two books are clasic. lol i actualy had that "clang clang rattle bing bang" going through my head the other day at work when i was counting the mins before I got off. awwww I gota go dig up those books now I hope i still have them somplace. i'm sure i at least have I love you forever somewhere.
