i did it
i got my own place.
today had to have been the best day in a really long time for me... i woke up smelling like weed & booze, my mind was totally cleared of whatever happened all last week. i went to the gym with my best friend, and had a great work out, i felt really good about myself. i went out for coffee at like 4 different places. and when i got home, i called 1 place about their basement for rent. i went to look at it with my best friend, and sure enough, it was a roof to put over my head, and there were buses nearby. that's the only requirements i needed to meet my approval. so i took it. i handed the guy a bulging pocket full of $20's and he gave me a key. i'm gonna move all my stuff in on tuesday morning, cuz that's the only day i have free. the rent's cheap and the people are nice so far... pink carpet, flowers on the wall. @_@... i'm not complaining... i'm completely on my own. bliss. i'm sure things are gonna be hard on me, financially, and quality of life-wise... but i'll feel good. and that's something i've needed for the past few years... i need a couch and a microwave... i'm seriously considering getting the microwave first. that's the only thing that i fear for my dear life if i don't have one... everything else, i can live without... well, maybe not the computer... my new address is 6662 124st 666... come visit me :( i'm kinda right behind kwantlen college in surrey... i'm totally in the middle of nowhere... oh well, there's a bus that goes to surrey central... that's all i need to survive... and if i ever feel a need to get jumped, it's only 20 minutes away by bus... *sweet* (it's 30 minutes from my mom's place)...

So did ya' go to your mom's and grab all your shit? Or is it still on lock-down? Hope you get some of your stuff back... soon. Try the nearest pawn shops for that microwave. I know someone that got a really good TV (Japan quality?), 27" I believe, for $250 or something like that. And he was looking at a microwave for about $100... almost new! Good luck furniture hunting. If any of my girlfriends move back to Japan soon, and they always do, I'll keep you posted on available furniture. :Kimmie:

mmm... japanese girls furniture...
i'm looking around thru classifieds for furniture right now, but i dunno if i'll be able to afford anything until i feel i'm stable with my money... i know my visa has a $537 bill on it right now... and i've only got like $800 in the bank... i'd like to have some money in my bank account, just incase... but who knows... i know someone in my mom's building is selling their furniture... they already sold the couch, but they've got a COFFEE TABLE (coffffffeeeeeeeee) and dinner table w/ chairs and other stuff that i could probably use... and it's going for like $25 a piece or something... thx for the tip on the pawn shop... i'll head down there on tuesday... right after i check out this guy's van in this alley ehehe... i hear he's got some good deals... and no, my stuff's not on lockdown anymore... i've got it all packed and sittin' in my friend's garage...

congrats i know this is something you've wanted/needed for a while. now leave dead rats and such all over your mom's house.. nail them to the wall if you must.. i can picture the children walking in crying and screaming for their REAL MOMMY. ha.

Glad to hear that you've found your own place bob! :) I was worried about ya having no place to stay. Is it easy to get to work from where you're at now?? Anyways, have an F&K housewarming sometime. hehe...I'll definitely pay you a visit sometime soon.

nah, it's not closer to work.... it's a 20 minute bus ride to/from surrey central... and then another 30 mins to/from work...
so i basically just added 30 more minutes to my commute... not that big of a deal... i just gotta leave 30 minutes earlier... whoopie.. it's worth it, being on my own...

Found out that some of the girls *give* away their furniture... How stupid is that?? :160: I'll keep an ear out for the good shit, k? I wouldn't mind getting some nifty new furniture myself... Heeheehee :D:

i had the BIGGEST stiffy until u gave my hopes up like that :( i don't think i have room for a roommate, hehe... i've already got my drug addict of a friend wanting to stay with me, cuz his school is only a couple blocks away... i dunno if i really want him to stay though... cuz he can't help me pay for food or anything, he spends all his money on drugs & gas... so i'm not gonna let him stay, unless he just wants to crash at my place for the night, and go to school in the morning... but i can't afford to feed the bum... GIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLSSSS... :(

hope things go good and the landlords aren't fucktards! but hey if u need things like microwaves adn what not.. make sure to check out london drugs and canadian tire... like a microwave.. u can get one forlike $100 or so from one of them places. cheaper things like that helped my sis when she moved out. so ya, just a tip! =] good luck with living on urself!

there's this 1 chick that works at london drugs in guildford mall... i went to high school with her.. she's so hot... everyone was always pushing me to mack on her in high school, but i was never hardcore enough to score with her... hehe... even though she always talked to me in drama class, and nobody else talked to me... NICE RACK! hehe, she said hi to me last time i was in there... she was like "u don't remember me do u?" and i was trying to act cool but quiet, but i was like "yea... ____ right?" and i gave her some demented look.... i just left it at that... next time i see her maybe i'll give her "the look" or something, ahahaha... PIMPIN'! london drugs huh... i'll bring a microwave to the checkout that that girl is working at... tell her i bought it so i could make her dinner tonite *boink*... i'll probably have to save up for a month though... i don't wanna go blowing too much money right away... i'm getting a sofa, loveseat, and matching chair for free though... found it in the classifieds and i called the chick and she said "sure just come pick it up sometime this week"... it probably reeks like piss... oh, one could only hope :)

KNOW THE FEELING!
I moved into my own place a little over a month ago now, I think! It was pure bliss, you're totally right! It's nothing special...basement suite, kinda ghetto, 7 minute walk to Langara (where I'm going to school), cheap rent, but a weird roommate.
However, things are a little different, lifestyle wise. I can't always do what I want to because of money. Money even $50 can go a long way now, if you make it! I didn't have a microwave at first, or a coffee maker, or a toaster (still don't actually). I bought all these groceries...and then realized half I couldn't eat till I had a microwave!! HAHA. Don't have a big screen tv like at home, I have my 13" tv from my bedroom at home...sitting in the living room, have a phone...no call waiting/voice mail/caller id/or long distance package (yet). But at least I have my computer...sure fire way to get a hold of me. I'm not even 20 mins from my mom, so if I ever need her, she's close by! Although at times, it could be not cool living so close...unannounced visits...EEP. However, it's much better! I get along with my parents much more now. I have responsibility in my life, and feel at ease...living my life the way I want to. It's nice to have peace & quiet too and come and go as you please! As for places to get stuff: London Drugs: best place to get coffee makers, iron, ironing board, laundry hamper, that kind of stuff. DOLLAR STORES: best for plates, bowls, candles, extension cords, shower caddy's, etc. IKEA: you can get an Ikea card, just like a credit card, so if you REALLY need something furniture or kitchen accessories wise, you can get it, and pay later!
