Caution: Rut Ahead

I don't know what it is but lately I've had this feeling like I'm in a Rut. I've been at my Job for over a Year now and it's to the point that I wake up and I'm at the Airport... I sleep and my last concious thought is "aw fuck... I work tomorrow." I've not made any headway towards my Career goals... Almost done paying off my debt. But overall it's just a big cloud of Blah. I think I need a change of scenery... could be that I've lived here for 10 years now. Longest I've been in one place. Anyone else felt like this? It's like I'm stuck in Neutral and not advancing in Life at all. Most depressing as I'm a very Career oriented person. Who wants to move out East or to N.Z./Australia with me? :p

i'll move to australia! i love that place

my suggestion is that since you're almost done with that debt, wait until that's all paid off then go on a little vacation somewhere, doesn't even have to be somewhere far, just a place where you can go and reflect and think about where you want your life to go.

that's what i did when i road transit in sydney, australia for free during my entire trip.

whoever lives at 8945 bellville street in sydney must have gotten a lot of tickets.

I get into the same sort of situation ever couple of years or so..
My usual solution is to move to a new city. While I hate moving, change of scenery is always nice.

And you get to make lots of new friends.

a really nifty way to see if you're going to go anywhere with your job.

find the person that has worked there the longest and then you'll find out where you'll be when you work there for that long.

lol awww shit... I'm good friends with the only other guy that's been here longer than I. He's at least accruing hours for his Commerical License. I however need to finish my Chopper License before I do that. lol Anyone have $40,000 they want to lend me? :p

I'm going through pretty much the same thing right now....yet all I can do is try to kiss ass so I can get a promotion at work? ugh.

My friend got his chopper license. Even got some flying work too. But the jobs are crummy to start, if you can even get one - like being co-pilot in a logging chopper where you get airsick from the turbulence. The really experienced people get the "plum" jobs which are easy flying - like TV news copters etc.

So he gave up on flying and now does 737 maintenance for Westjet.

Oh - a couple years later 2 people got killed in one of the training choppers he was in. Tail rotor froze up or fell off.

Yah... I've got two regular Pilot Licenses already... been around Choppers since I was born. heh I've got the contacts to get a good job once I'm licensed. It's just down to Cashflow.
