a 5 year old made my day

yesterday i was throwing a party for all the kids i coach - it was hot, and stressful, and full of yelling, some tears and alot of fun.
anyways, ive been feelin run down lately due to life and its many many troubles, and the stress of this entire week and the party was about to break me.
then this little 5 year old girl mackenzie came walking up to me with her arms wide open sobbing.
i picked her up and she told me she was just tired. so i sat down with her and held her tell she fell asleep. and for 20 minutes i felt better. when she woke up all dazed she looked around at all the other kids then asked if she could do my hair for me, and she did. it hurt, and i think i may have some bald spots, but it was still wonderful.
she reminded me of why i work with kids. because as much work as you put into it, they return ten times the favor just by being kids, and being young and reminding you of the simple little things in life.
a good nap can cure any bad mood, and getting your hair done will make you fell pretty, or as mackenzie said "oh my gosh now your just sooooo cute."
and most importantly something as simple as a hug, a REAL hug, one that doesnt stop after 5 seconds or happen because your saying thank you or anything like that, but a hug that is there because you need one or you need to be comforted, is something that you never realize is what you needed to get rid of days and days of stress and sadness.

It's so nice to see someone seeing the little good things in a world in disaster!

i feel the same way
working with kids keeps me sane. their innocence and oblivity to most things important when you grow up help keep me from letting those things stress me.i love my job.:)

thats so adorable. i remember when i was a little girl id always go to my mommy and b like "mommy my love tank is empty fill me up" so my mommy would hold me and rock me and sing me lullabyes till my love tank was filled up.

thats one thing i miss about being a little kid you get tonnes of cuddles.

everytime my niece gives me a hug i absolutely melt cuz shes such a cuddly little girl and she gives the best hugs.

awww kids are great even if they are fire breathing monstrs 90% of the time.

:)

I hug to a kid is much better than any band aid. That's all someone really needs is a hug after getting hurt or tired.

I love nap times at pre-school and 3-5care! I get time to myself so I don't go nuts with worrying about wear/what kids are doing. And then when they wake up they're so sleepy and dazed, it's really cute. And the rest of the day ends happier then it began. I love it.

stina.
