Expsnsive Dosn't Mean better.
Its my birthday today, i and i got a HUGE very expsnsive flower arangemnt
and then i got a few sunflowers in a glass of water. I love sunflowers! it made me so happy My I once had an ex, who thought i'd love him if he spent money on me, he bought me EVERYTHING. We would be shopping in the mall, and i'd say "oh isn't that pretty" and i'd walk away, 10 mins later he'd come back with it for me. Then i had an ex, who didn't have much money.. and for christmas one year, he gave me his hoody..the hoody that we had to thank of our relationship, the same hoody that he had given me to whare when i was cold for YEARS before this christmas and i loved it more then anything Expensive doesnt mean better I wish people knew that. |

yeah I always make stuff for people on their birthdays and christmas and such (I'm blessed with being 'crafty'). My mum knows how much I looooove hand made presents. I just moved away and I had been telling her how much I missed her cooking, so for christmas last year she made me a cook book, individually typed out all my favourite recipes, and the outside was a collage with pictures of her and me together. It made me cry!

cost of an item suggests higher quality (but doesn't mean it).
after a certain price point quality is irrelevant while a $5.99 Zellers medium sweatshirt is basicly the same as that $250 medium silas sweatshirt at richard kidd, you will be the only kid in van city rocking the silas shirt. the price point creates value by exclusiveness. the basic 'i have it, you dont, nah nah nah' mentality. |

things that you never expect are the best kind of presents... like yesterday, my man bought me this skirt from frequency 8... its the only one there and they havent made that kind for 2 years.. and will not be making it again... i was there one day and said i wanted to buy it but i had forgotten my debit card, and this chick was like oh IM getting it.. i was like suck me bitch... but then she didnt get it in time, and when my man picked me up from work (which was hectic all day) he had it with him, and it made me so happy! i couldnt believe he just straight went and bought it for me outta no where for no reason! hes the SHIIIIIIIZZZZZZZZZLEE FO sho!

i tend to have to make stuff for gifts as i have no money during regular present times because im in school. but the stuff i make (paintings, drawings, prints, ect) are of the highest quality and completely individualized.
i had an ex who would buy me gold if he cheated, and took me on rediculous shopping sprees. i felt baught. i wasnt a girlfriend or at least i didnt truely feel like one. but i was young and stupid and made many mistakes in that relationship. the best birthday present i have received were sunflowers and red balloons. :kimmie: its all i ever want because those are the two things that make me smile in that all over way, like when your a kid and you have no other worries. |

Ive never been one for expensive gifts
I think the best date a guy ever took me on was a homemade picnic down on the beach, complete with a mix tape played on a super cheesy ghettoblaster, and some flowers that I think he'd picked out of his neighbours yard. It was awesome and I think I still have the tape :) |

Here's a question, on a first date, does the guy buy? OR do they go dutch. Other ppl are really traditonal about that. Me personally, i like to buy on the first date. It just seems appropriate. Call me old fashioned.
But anyways, i agree, you don't have to spend alot of money to make a person feel special. Go for a walk and maybe have a coffee or something. |

^fuckin gold digger!
i fully agree.. i rather get personal hand made thoughtful things than objects with a price tag on it. hell... id love to get a cheeseburger more than gettin expensive flowers. personaly i love giving handmade gifts.. even ask my friends, they just mean a lot more than "a shirt". |

im ALL about sentimental gifts.... if it is a really thoughtful gift that cost $1 or was made....... it would make me sooo happy... its the best when u get those kinds of gifts cause u know someone really took the time to think about it and they were thinking about u! :)
