A dog named Rosie
Well my friend Dustin just called me up and said
"Kimmy, I need you to do me the hugest favor." *me in a very leery, hesitant voice* "oh?" So he goes on to explain about this Dog named Rosie, a female pitbull, 2 years old that he saw on the SPCA's website a few weeks ago that he had been considering adopting. Apparently the dog is being put down today at 5:30 if no one comes to get her by then. I called the SPCA and they confirmed this with me, and said she has been sitting there for over a month, they told me she has behaviour issues and has destroyed kennels and will most likely destroy his house. They feel its better for the dog to be put down, because obviosly its in emotional pain. what do you people think? Wouldnt the cause of the Dogs "emotional pain" come from being locked in a cage over a month long period? Can they really say that the dog would be the same if it was in a home and being loved and interacted with ? I know the SPCA has volunteers that come and play with the dogs and stuff, but it cant compare to being in a home setting. Anyway, what can I say Im a sucker for my friends, and have a love for animals, so there goes my plans for today out the window! Im picking up Dustin at 1:30 and we are off to save Rosie. |

do u know how the dog got to be at the spca? cause it may have been a family or previous owner that dropped the dog off...explaining the past issues that the dog has had.
or they can usually tell by the first day or so how the behaviour of the dog is going to be there is no garauntee that a home environment is going to be any different pitbulls are extremely temepermental and very unpredictable...so they may think that its safer for the dog and for any interested owners if the dog is put down good for your friend for wanting to adopt him....lets just hope he has good luck |

best of luck...
I got my dog as a puppy not knowing he was inbred. He was absolutly nuts, agression wise, and ran my household. He turned out to be half deaf and blind too. He lives on a farm now because I could not control him. They are trying to rehabilitate him but its been extremely difficult. |
