does anyone know if it has been proven that the PILL can cause fertility problems in the future.. i went off of it because i was on it for about 3 years.. i want to go back on it... u start the day after ur period is over right?

yeah, bungloshlung and yoko are right, the morning after pill is supposed to work 72 hours BUT, I think the sooner you take it, the more effective it will be.

but seeing as you've had sex for a whole week now, I'm be worried about the possiblity of the already being pregnant within those first 4 days and what those huge doses of hormones in the morning after pill could do to the fetus if you DO take it.

I find that different doctors, depending on the research or their specialties will have different things to say about the pill or the morning-after pill though.

for example, some doctors will say that being on bcp's has no effect on fertility, whereas some doctors may have read up on other research that may say otherwise (I don't even know if there is enough research on long-term use out there anyway).

I guess you could say I'm skeptical about what doctors have to say and prefer to do my own research or ask from a wide variety of sources..

but as of now, I guess the doctor is the only one who can really help you...

I wouldn't necessarily rely on that. a newer study about a year ago showed that a woman can ovulate up to 3 times in a month!

just because you're on them and take them perfectly doesn't mean you're not going to get pregnant.

Exactly.

They also say your chances of getting pregnant are higher if you miss a pill at the very start or very end of your pack.

Our eggs aren't good for very long once we ovulate, i thik it's like one or 2 days. But spem can hang out there for up to 5 days before it dies.

no, it's not been PROVEN. do you know how much research is required for scientists to say that something is PROVEN?

you start on the FIRST day of your period, but some girls will start on the first Sunday after their period so there's a better chance of not getting their periods on a weekend. and most doctors will probably tell you to not have sex till after the first month of starting it.

there was a new study recently that my mom showed me that said that these effects are possible.
but i think its only for long term usage of depo
