My ex's mom hated me and made our relationship VERY difficult at times.
The best thing to do is to talk to him about it, find out WHY she doesn't like you, and if it's for a good reason, sit down with her and talk about it.
I talked w/my ex's mom and it STILL didn't do any good (I'm pretty sure she didn't like me 'cause she was jealous of all the time my man spent with me), so I decided that I would just stay the hell out of her way and avoid any unnecessary contact with her. That seemed to work pretty well.
