having my cat put down

well, i just got a phone call from my mom and she was at the emergency vet hospital. apparently my cat (who just turned seven a few days ago) had some sort of brain aneurism thing that stopped the blood from flowing to the lower half of her body. according to the doctor she was in pain and wouldn't be able to recover so they made the decision to put her down.

that really fucking sucks. i loved that stupid cat with 110% of my heart. she was with me right from my first day of grade eight and i can't believe that she's not going to be there sleeping in my underwear drawer when i go back to white rock.

fuck this place sucks sometimes.

i remember the feeling when i had to put down my dog of 13 years... had him since grade 2 in hong kong and brought him with me here. it sucked =(

i'm actually surprised by how upset i am.

i think it was mostly because it was a complete shock. she was fine when i last saw her and this brain thing happened just an hour before they had to put her down.

aww jake, i'm sorry. losing pets is always so hard. i was absolutely crushed when i lost my dog, who had been with me since the end of second grade.

it's always hard to get used to.

I'm sorry to hear this. :( My friend Tamz' cat just died this morning as well. And I'll tell you what I told her- now you have a guardian angel kitty to watch over you. <3

But at the same time, such a tiny animal can give you so much unconditional love and make you feel better by just simply purring. How can it not be important, right?

Pets are great! they are your best friends in the whole world and provide unconditional love and understanding, it rocks!

my kitty died in my arms last year and it was the saddest thing ever, i think it'll be a long time before i have a pet again, it's hard to deal with the loss :(

it's funny how i always used to see my friends lose pets and they were so sad but i didn't really understand it until now. it's completely different than having a grandparent die. at least for me. i mean i loved my grandpa, but i never saw him that much. and he didn't walk across my desk while i was studying and lie down on top of my binder, or scratch at my bedroom door to get in at night, or jump into the bathtub by accident and then jump back out soaking wet, or fall in the toilet, or sleep in my underwear drawer, or fall asleep on my stomach while i watched CSI.

it's in cat heaven now, on the biggest kitty jungle ever seen. And her front lawn is made of 100% cat nip.

at least she's not in pain anymore.

yeah i wouldn't have wanted to see her in pain. i just wish i could have been there. it's weird to think that the last time i was in white rock was the last time i was going to see her, i just didn't know it then.

it's weird that last night when i couldn't sleep, my mind was wandering and i imagined what it would be like when one of my cats died and i actually had tears rolling down my cheeks. even thinking about it makes me so incredibly upset.

Losing a Pet that you've had for a long time is always hard. I sympathize with you Jake.

I remember losing my first Dog... He was a part of my Family before I was born so it was even harder for my Parents.

it wasnt to long ago that i had my sad story of my dog on here...you posted on it i believe.....so i feel your pain. it is never easy losing a pet, its part of your family, but sadly these things happen. but from my exerience, it was for the better, and its in a better place.

all i can say is im soo sorry.. its so hard to go thru these things..i have three cats, and if i lost any of them i dont know how i would feel...as the cats i have are me first cats ive ever had living on my own ...and i have no idea what ill do when they get too old or get sick...lots of hugs~

My cat is sick right now.. skin irritation, and I was so worried I stayed up all night and cried a bit. I was so afraid it was something way worse. I'd be completely lost and brokenhearted if anything were to happen to him.

^^ my cat is sick right now too im so sad he is having problems going to the bathroom..i have had this problems with crystals in his urine b4 and he almost died...something purbreds tend to get sick easily with in seal point hymilans(sp?)...it sucks cause he is so cute fluffy cuddly and cute and i cant help him much but hold him when im not at work and make sure he is ok.....your not alone..pet owners life...being a parent to an animal<3

Man, that's terrible, I'm sorry to hear that, I just recently had my dog put down...after 14 years. That was in the summer, my family is still quite touchy on the subject. I hope your cat had a good life.
