Should the death penalty be re-instated? Is it fair of us to house killers for their life, or risk letting them out to kill again? Or is it just as wrong for us to kill some one, even if they might have be rightfully convicted of murder.

Did you know that it actually costs more money to keep someone on death row than it does to give them a life sentance? Death Row inmates are assured a mandatory amount of appeals in the States which ends up costing more over the course of those 10-20 years than it would be to just give them a cell for 45 years. So, in the meantime, not condoning Government sanctioned murder of full grown humans is good for the image of our country.

Yeah, it's something wrong with their brain, but most sexually related issues also have to deal with hormones. If the body is not producing testosterone (ie guy's balls been cut off) I hardly think he'll really ever be in the "mood" again.

It got them out of jail long enough to re offend.

Just because you dont have a dick producing testosterone doesnt mean youre home free,sex is in the mind,its about power...not about the actual act of sex.Now even if thier cock and balls is gone,they still have the want,the need,the urge to carry out thier sick twisted hunger for power obtained by sexually degrading and defiling other human beings.

this site is talking about psycho/sociopaths, and is tieing sex offenders into it... and I think goddessa is right by saying that a lot of sex offenders are more likely satisfying their urges for power, control and malice, and castration is probably irrelevant in those cases (the article doesn't say anything about the penis, so keep that in mind)... though a few offenders could be satisfying sexual urges (as stated above)...

Neat. I don't really have the time or the patience to corroborate every single thing some person claims as fact on internet, so I guess it all works out.

While we're on the subject though, the problem with Case Studies is that it gives no level of statistical analysis like correlational or experimental research does. It takes a single case and blows it up so that people assume things like "Well, this schitzophrenic person has multiple personalities, therefore ALL skitzophrenic people have multiple personalities."

Oh, and by the way, googling "sex offender castration case study" shows a lot of results that show castration (chemical or surgical) as a valid punishment method, particularily in sex offenders, and only a bunch of articles chastising castration as punishment for ethical reasons. Interestlingly enough, I found it difficult to find an article supporting your case that castration is an ineffective punishment for sex offenders.

So again, I ask you to back up your own shit.

they mainly focus on high levels of testosterone as being the main force behind a males drive to offend,however as previously noted in that article that it can be triggered by a plethora of other events that have happened in thier lifetime.So,in those cases where the offenders triggers arent that of high levels of testosterone production,then in theory chemical casteration would be ineffective for the broader spectrum.Chemical casteration would only prove to be affective for very few offenders.
