Well you could talk to him and tell him that now that you guys arent seeing each other, it makes you uncomfortable hanging around with him, and tell him thats its best for both of you if you guys go your seperate ways.


I dont know u, or ur ex, so i dont know what the problem is, just be honest, and it will come out nicely. and if he's a good guy, he'll understand and lay off.

But on a serious note, Tell him that you can't handle him all the time and need some time apart. I am sure that if you guys dont talk for a while you can be friends when all the feelings he has, simmer down.

I wonder if there really a "nice" way to break things off with someone without leaving a residue of hope in their hearts that you'll reconsider in the future?

I've tried the "nice" way a few times, but that just ended up in being harassed with phone calls asking why we couldn't just work it out.. blahblahblah.

There was a time when I sincerely felt it easier to just tell them not "Ever fucking talk to me again...I'm changing my phone number so don't bother calling me back..etc" instead of telling them that I just wasn't attracted to them...i admit i was kinda cowardly ;)

honestly, no matter what u say its not going to come across as nice. if someone has feelings for u then they will feel rejected no matter what just be honest. better than just stringin them along just to be nice. sometimes when it comes fast and hard it hurts u get over it and aventually move on. when they dont know they grow frustrated, confussed, sad and or mad.

i have found thru out all my relationships. its easier to say im sorry but im over our past and i have just moved on.

u could also just lie and say u have met someone else...that always works if they are those types who tend to over react and become very emotional. some ppl cant handle the truth even when they ask for it.

hope i was helpful in some sort of way...although i tend to be known as a very blunt person.
