I agree. I haven't told my parents because I haven't had a girlfriend serious enough to introduce 'em to so it seemed kind of pointless. I'm sure they wouldn't care in the least, but there's no need to mention it if it currently has no relevance to them.

I would much rather read posts by Impure about her horses and doing a job that she absolutely loves. Secondly, like everyone has said here, no parent wants to hear it unless you are full fledged gay and planning your marriage to your future life partner. Parents also have fantasies of one day becoming grandparents and sharing that with you. Why put people through unneccessary confusion and heartbreak for something that you do for nothing more than attention.

It is one thing to be a liberal parent. My mother is one. It took her several years of conditioning....but none-the-less, I don't tell her when I went out that time, and made out with that girl. I have proven that to her time and again. There are somethings she just doesn't want to know. Just like I don't want to know shit about her.

My mother went to her first rave in 1996. Longer than most of you have even known what a rave is. She has seen every trend come and go, right along side of me. And she rolls her eyes at the same things I do when it comes to things she thinks are silly. Girls making out in a corner don't phase her. I heard what you were saying loud and clear. I don't expect everyone to have the same opinions I do.

When I was 15, my mother asked things of me that she wanted to know. To this day she still does. But she doesn't want to know everything.

For instance, when I was 17, I decided to tell her about my piercings. She straight up said, I didn't need to know that. She proceeded to over worry about things like hepatitus c and infections. My fault for stepping in it, but hey, she was right, she didn't need to know.
