Tyler "T-Bone" Stadius

Fabric, NordicTrax, djtbone.com - Vancouver
Tyler's love of music began in the late 70's - early 80's while he and his family lived and travelled around the world. Because his father was a disco, funk & soul diehard, Tyler was always surrounded by a variety of musical styles. In Toronto, Canada, Tyler spent the latter part of the 80's stage-diving and frontlining as lead singer in various punk bands. In 1989, while attending film school, Tyler hosted numerous warehouse parties in the downtown core. Not happy with what the DJ's were playing, he decided to provide the music himself, playing a mix of reggae, funk, hip hop, acid jazz & house.

In 1991, Tyler moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. The underground music scene consisted of pop techno and early rave. Tyler was one of the first DJ's to introduce house music to Vancouver, spinning at all the warehouse parties and raves. In 1992, Tyler started "Romper Room", his first residency. This club was the only place to hear proper house by artists like: Murk, Todd Terry, Kerri Chandler, and Masters at Work. Tyler was quickly recognized as Vancouver's top house DJ. Tbone's mixed tapes and cd's have received outstanding reviews by respected publications such as, Muzik, DJ, Mixer, URB, XLR8R, & iD. It wasn't long before word spread and Tyler was playing at some of the best clubnights in the world: The Shelter & Red Dog in Chicago, DIY / Bounce, Back to Basics, The Rex in Paris, Space at Bar Rhumba, Tribal Function, Radius, Wiggle, and Fabric.

Over the years Tyler has brought to town, and played along side many of the world's top DJ's such as Doc Martin, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Murk, Little 'Louie' Vega, Deep Dish, Ritchie Hawtin, Derrick May, Global Communications, Kenny Hawkes, Terry Francis, Pure Science, Evil Eddie Richards, to name a few. In 1994, Tyler and a partner, opened "Bassix" in Vancouver, soon recognized as one of the best record shops in Canada.

Jay Tripwire

Nightshift, Yoshitoshi, Soma, Gourmet - Los Angeles
If house music knows no borders, then let it be said that Jay Tripwire is pushing a sound that is truly global. He is utilizing all the sounds known as house, ranging from deep house to minimal German electro, to acid and things beyond. As a longtime DJ first, Jay felt the urge to begin creating his own music using the knowledge from what was working on the dancefloor and what sounds best fit the wide range of musical influences Jay was keen to.

Production wise, Jay was one of the pioneering producers that launched the so-called “west coast sound” into the house music limelight, turning out a string of percussive, psychedelic house tracks that utilized rumbling sub-basslines and dub production techniques. Not content to be constrained to just one derivative sound, Jay has veered off into deep house and robotic acid house in recent years, with his Mr. Barcode moniker going heavy into the 303-heavy electronic house sound that is currently in vogue.

With over 100 releases and over a hundred thousand records sold on some of the finest labels underground house music has to offer, along with his music featured on countless commercially released mix CD's by many major artists. He also has been charted by the likes of John Digweed, Terry Francis, Fred Everything and many others. Jay's music has a vast range of appeal, crossing the boundaries between deep house and tech house. What's more is that he has even been known to pulling progressive DJ's into playing house.

Jay has recently joined forces with Chicago's heavyweight Mazi (Audio Soul Project, Studio Nova) to form a duo by the name of "The Clones". They have been doing numerous successful gigs and are regulars at Fabric.

We know there are plenty of choices out there, but when it comes to naughty basslines and twisted, dirty grooves there's only one name: Jay Tripwire.
