Do Make Say Think fans, please help.
Allo
I enjoy their music a lot but can only listen to the albums soo much, ya know? Can you please recommend other artists that have a similar sound? I am looking for good music to study with, so preferable stuff with limited vocals, not too heavy, and long albums. Any ideas would be stellar. Mike |

Funny, I was just listening to DMST when I saw this.
List of post-rock bands - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Usual suspects: Tortoise, Fridge, Godspeed you black emperor, Explosions in the sky, Labradford, instrumental stuff by Dave Pajo (e.g. Papa M - Live From A Shark Cage). Mogwai perhaps (but I don't like them so much). Tortoise - Millions Now Living Will Never Die (better yet, their 3xCD comp A Lazarus Taxon) Fridge - Happiness Explosions in the sky - The earth is not a cold dead place Papa M - Live from a shark cage Labradford - fixed:context / e luxo so / mi media naranja To Rococo Rot - The Amateur View John McEntire - Music From the motion picture Reach The Rock For studying, you might also like more electronic-y, ambient, dubby stuff like Pan American, Loscil (Vancouver musician). Loscil - Plume (LOSCIL - Plume) Some recent ambient dub-techno albums: Echospace - The Coldest Season (DEEP CHORD presents ECHOSPACE - The Coldest Season), Claro Intelecto - Metanarrative (CLARO INTELECTO - Metanarrative ) A recent album I like is the instrumental/electronic/dub/post-rock vein is Secret Rhythms 3 by Burnt Friedman and Jaki Liebezeit (from Can): FRIEDMAN & LIEBEZEIT aka BURNT FRIEDMAN/JAKI LIEBEZEIT - Secret Rhythms 3 |
