Rock set at a Party

We're talking outdoor parties of course. But what do you guys think about a rock band playing at a party? Time slot would have to be either very early on or early morning of the party, because you can't be playing rock music during raver drug peaks. I remember summer love had a rock band play a couple years ago, and there seemed to be a huge prejudice against rock music at a rave.
So what do you guys think???

Just a though because i've started as rock band, and its easier to get exposure at rave, because there's more people there, then what normal starting rock gigs attract. And playing in front of lots of people is the best.

Man, I'd fukin love to have a rock band there while I'm high. But I think it would be a good idea to have it early in the night...not everyone may share my enthousiasm.

Rock on! I like hearing all kinds of music at a party, as long as it's good. If you suck look out for various objects being thrown at you =)

It's obvious that most party kids have a much more diverse set of musical tastes than just 'techno' so I think other forms of music at a party would be fine.

I know I'd enjoy it and if someone didn't.... they can wander off to another stage or what have you.

if i wanted rock music i'd go to a rock show!

i go to parties in order to hear electronic music the way it is supposed to be heard. on a large soundsystem. i think it would totally take away from the vibe and atmosphere of a rave to hear distorted guitars and drums and vocals from a live rock group.

and im saying this as someone whos played the guitar for 9+ years and has played in metal bands etc for many years. i honestly have no interest in hearing rock music at a rave. ugh.
