Metallica - Kill'em All

*bashes head*

I love this album so much.

With the new Metallica album out it got me thinking of the old stuff. You know the real good shit. St. Anger is essentially them trying to be 17 year old metal stars again and it just doesn't work... what with them being 40ish, married with kids.

Kill'em All just has that great recorded in a scuzzy basement feel. If you like Metallica/rock/metal fuck if you just like good music I say definetly check it out.

*grins*

Just thought I'd share...

Essentially the only link i see is that both albums are raw as hell. And the fact that both have thrashy elememts. I think St Anger is on certain level far better then kill 'em all. It a far more mature approach to an often very youthful immature driven genre.

But kill 'em all does fuckin rock out. No Remorse, the Four Horsemen and the bass solo are my favs

St. Anger is lacking in one major department.... Kirk Hammet has no solos!!!! The addition of Rob Trujillos on bass is a more than suitable replacement for Newstead as well..... def. a good choice on their part. I have to agree with Stoney though that St. Anger is a more mature approach to music. The lyrics alone can show you that.

As for pure rock out madness though I have to go with Cerah on that one.... better yet don't forget about Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning. Basically anything pre black album is good.

for having no solos though, its still very entertaining metal, which is rare. It requires lots of awesome riffs :kam:

^What's your point? This is a thread about METALLICA.

Pantera's Cowboy's From Hell or Far Beyond Driven are great albums but to compare them to Metallica is like comparing apples to oranges. They are two totally diff. styles of metal. Metallica was speed metal in its prime and Pantera has never really been much more than power metal....leaning towards thrash.

vulger display of power was bad ass shit when it came out, but pantera started out as a pussy ass hair band(my friend from texas used to see em' at shitty rock bars) and metallica started out mean, and just went pussy when they got old - after about 5 or 6 really good albums.
