i think the success of the met is in it's low-browness. it's a cheap & unpretentious place where people can go enjoy themselves without spending a lot of loot or having to dress up at all. if it were cleaner, in a better location, more recently rennovated or better equipped for 'club' style events, it would cost more & probably require more/bigger-spending clientele than a friday dnb night could support. It also means that a lot of potential attendees are gonna be put off by the environment, but from what i understand there's still enough ppl coming out to keep the night alive, so something's working. For me the smell of fried food that's always hanging in the air is a deal breaker... but props are due to toby & crew for keepin it bumpin as long as they have.

it was actually a pretty good crowd last night. not just numbers but it seemed a little more diverse and sober than usual. my set was a little lack-luster imo, but the other guys (click and i forget the other guys name, sorry) kept the place movin'.
