(2008.01.26) IN DA MIX (Vol. 2) @ Martime Labour Centre
Twisted Productions is proud to present...
Saturday, January 26th, 2008 Maritime Labour Centre 1880 Triumph Street, Vancouver (At Victoria, Three Blocks North of Hastings) TRANCE/PSY/HARD DANCE/HARDSTYLE STAGE RICHARD DURAND, Holland -Terminal 4 / Richard Durand official website, MySpace.com - richard durand - NL - Electro / Hard House / Trance - www.myspace.com/richarddurand / Integrity Artist Management - Welcome... Without a doubt the hottest new Trance DJ and producer to emerge from Holland since Sander van Doorn, Richard Durand was recommended by none other than the mighty Tiësto as his 'Tip For The Top in 2007' in DJ Magazine, and Richard has responded with a string of stunning productions and remixes in recent months, including official reworks of Tiësto's own 'Lethal Industry' and 'Flight 643'. The Richard Durand sound is Trance, Techno and a touch of Electro in a unique package that's both dynamic and devastating. Having truly laid down his marker with his monster hits 'Make Me Scream', his amazing rework of The Prodigy ‘Smack My Bitch Up’, Fragma ‘Toca Me’, and an epic rework of Tiesto 'Break My Fall', Richard Durand productions are the big buzz word with Trance fans, having received constant playlist support from Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, and Eddie Halliwell. Few producers can lay claim to such feats in their entire career, yet Richard has managed to achieve all this in just 18 months and he is hungry for more. Richard Durand is set to be MASSIVE in 2008. Don't say we didn't warn you! Allya Digital Over Rob Nowak Project One ELECTRO/HOUSE/BREAKS/SPEED GARAGE STAGE DJ NEOTERIC - Futility Records / DJ neoteric dot Com - Coming Soon, MySpace.com - NEOTERIC - 27 - Male - Vancouver, CA - www.myspace.com/djneoteric It's been said that it's not what you have, but what you can do with it. Vancouver-based DJ Neoteric (Jeremiah Rusznyak) is no stranger to making something out of nothing. DJ’ing was a very natural progression for this taste-maker, as he started buying vinyl in the mid-nineties and releasing mix-tapes locally. In 2000, Neoteric launched Futility Records, a label dedicated to exposing good music to a larger audience. This saw the release of classic Canadian Hip Hop albums, and an acclaimed series of mix-tapes which highlighted the best Hip Hop artists in the country. No strange to touring, Neoteric has crossed Canada many times, and has played clubs in the US, and as far away as Vietnam, with extensive touring planned for the future. Known for his eclectic style, and ability to play most any genre, Neoteric has played a wide variety of gigs, from headlining the biggest dance clubs in Canada, to rocking live Hip Hop shows, large festivals, and raves. With over 650 gigs under his belt, and acclaimed tracks and re-edits to his name, there are no plans to slow down! ALKATRAZ - Bigstar Records / MySpace.com - Alkatraz - CA - House / Electro / Techno - www.myspace.com/alkatrazmuzik Formed in 2005 by Gabriel Maga aka G-Bot and John Pirito aka Dub-J, Alkatraz has proven to be the future of dance music. Their sound can be described as a blend of Banging House, Electro and Breaks. Whether it's in the lab or on stage their energy rips through the speakers. The two have been producing and DJ'ing separately for the last 10 years, collaborating occasionally on various projects. Fast forward to spring of 2007. Alkatraz releases their sophomore LP. Debuted at the WMC Miami, the record was welcomed to rave reviews especially the B side cut, ‘I Just Wanna Party’ featuring Nikita. Meanwhile, Alkatraz has had the opportunity to rock dance floors from Canada to China with some of the best in the world; Junior Sanchez, Bad Boy Bill, Sander Van Doorn, John 00 Fleming, 4Strings, and Lee Haslam among them. This past year saw the release of their Electro Trance anthem ‘Fame’, and a groovy new rework of Shakedown ‘At Night’. 2008 looks to be just as big for this upfront DJ team. With locals... psy-trance...:oh: but richard durand... now, i've listened to sets of his in the past, (c/o alldj.org,) & i've gotta admit that they kinda seem all over the place, to be honest. :S but i've also heard his remixes of both d.j. tiesto - lethal industry & way out west - the fall @ EVERY.FREAKIN'.SINGLE twisted/solid rave i've been to @ riverside/the m.l.c./the p.n.e. this year, & both of them are dynamic & fresh, (in my opinion,) & they're also INCREDIBLY high-energy, making people ALWAYS go absolutely insane; (myself included). so, we'll see. we'll see... ^^
You seemed to be really enjoying yourself to the progressive-psy I was playing when opening up for Sander Van Doorn ;) But ya, Durand has been on fire the past few months, few promos of his out now on Terminal 4 which are going to be massive for early 2008. Sentience has been really expanding his sound lately too from what I see in some of the charts he's had posted on some of the online dance shop portals. This party definately has something for everyone, really hope to see everyone there for another celebration of good times, be sure to come up and say Hi if you spot me! :) |
