Dave Lea spun a kickass set. Very similar to his Slinky Planet Tokyo CD...he played hard, with tons of new tracks I have yet to hear in vancouver. Mixing was as good as can be....the set had great flow, and the crowd was loving it. I found it very hard to leave the front of the stage during his set.
Next up was John Kelly. He made such an impressive entrance on the decks. Echoed out Dave Lea's last record and then out of nowhere he slammed in his first record HARD, made my jaw drop. He built up his set perfectly playing lots of new tunes....a few classics and from what i hear Tons of bootlegs. He played tunes i doubt any of us will hear again in this city any time soon. His mixing was tight , he sampled loads of records throughout his set, he even scratched a bit. Technically This was the best set I have heard since John'00'Fleming. I doubt anyone will be topping Mr.Kelly anytime soon. The Lighting in the main room was the best I have seen in a while at the plaza. Tons of Light effects, and strobes, plus they even had a multi colored laser facing the crowd. I’ve seen way bigger parties at the plaza with less lighting so I was thoroughly impressed. Alisa Dowling Spun at the start of the night. She spun a great set to, Ill be looking forward to hearing her again.
Ya and it wasnt a CD player in the chill room man....it was the main stage music linked upstairs into the theatre. This isnt the first time that this has been done either. I prefer it when its done like this because you can chill in the theatre and still listen to the headliners. |

it was actually a pretty good party, I trather enjoyed myself! Though.. I dont remeber exactly how to dance to house....
shake yer butt, wut? oi, and when 6 am struck.. FAWK! linds i think you know what I'm talking about.. but iwant one of those trees in the BC room! Kraig.. HOW DID YOU GET THAT PIX?!?!?! Me and Lex look GOOD ;D Twas great to chill with you all and to meet some new peeps.. oi, was it interesting.. |

^^^haha, same.. to a degree but I never totaly got into trance..
but it sorta reminded me of a static party where all the ppl that are fiendin for drugs had to walk around with flash lights search for some on the floor.. oi.. sad sad sad! Linds, quiet you! |

Everytime I left the main room because the Trance got a little strange a dope track would come on and I'd have to walk back and stay. But that's how it always is isn't it?
I spent the night looking for a comfortable chair 'cause I was kinda cranky and then Clockwork and Jay-C came on and laid down some funk that got me going. After a straight hour of busting it; I decide to go outside in the smoke pit. My girlfriend and I sit down and this older Asian guy right beside us starts to convulse. His girl who's sitting on him starts to pound him in the heart but his body is spasming' so bad she get's thrown off. The guy beside me holds him down while I run to get security. All night there's a crew of them outside but when I need one I have to wait for someone to open the fucking door and get a white-shirted guy. I came back and the guy was laying there flat. He stayed like that for 10 min's until the stretcher took him away. :toasted: I just started to get my groove back and this happens......it was a little much for me so I went home. Why couldn't I have been around for moments like "Bowling Shoe Dude" or "Myles smelling his pits???" If anyone hears what happened to that guy, let me know. I kinda missed all the news today while we were out in the afta-party limelight |

i had more fun then i thought i would at this party, but thats was because of all the people i was chillin with.
all you fnk'ers (and there was a whole bunch of you there) it was fun to meet you all!!!!! the best visual of the nite was teh hot water tank bustin...that was insane.... the ceiling collasped...the guy in the kitchen with a box over his head...me turning to a cop and asking him what happened and then having him tell me he has no idea but its fun to watch.. hahaha the funky disco house was fun! ummmm ya i dunno, i had fun!! yay me ! |

I think the best part about this party was having the F&K crew all there, and all having a bumpin time.. all on the same level. was simply wicked!! and the afterset lex.. awesome man, awesome! have to say one of the most fun times I have had with everyone in along time.. lets make spooky shatter this weekend tho! :)

Overall... good show. The lighting needed a little more work, and I was expecting a little more people, but *meh* what can you do?
If you weren't trance-i-fied in the main room, you were shaking your ass in the BC room. It was nice to meet some F&K peeps: LoveKat ~ nice meeting ya too krisamata ~ don't worry, you weren't harassing :kam: nice to finally meet you! Ricey ~ :) Bitchin ~ you gotta a smoke? you gotta a smoke? And the rest: Form, Kaos, retro1, snyx, MC Hammered, Montana, Kraig, and Jen (lazee_grrl) It was great partying with you guys |

good times...GOOD TIMES!!! heard some good tracks in both rooms, met a few new peeps...ran into a few old rave pals, popped multiple tabs ...came back to my house with friends and drank myself retarded all day long :trippin:

id hafta agree with kimmies review about the lighting, john kelly was ok, but i expected more after seeing him play at his residency @ CREAM , but he played some traks I really wanted to hear.......................
