I refuse to play'em if I've got something to say I bloody well say it. Other than that I play when I'm booked, have a blast and let the promoters deal with peoples shit. Why can't this be simple? I play my timeslot......I get paid......I have fun.....Then I go home Seems simple enough to me but it just never seems to work out that way.... |

Unfortunately I don't know all angles of the story so i'm in the dark with soggy match and a burnt out candle. I understand your frustration when it come to a botched payment especially when the amount is deemed affordable. As for payment, there really shouldn't be an excuse. Last time I checked, records were not free, so why should they be played for free? I've been stiffed several times and i think it's a weak gesture on the promoters part. I firmly believe that promoters should have a dj budget regardless of what transpires that evening. In all the cases where payment has been short, forgotten or delayed i've always waited it out. I know if nothing ever comes through I'll never offer my services again or recommend them. As for the verbal stuff, i think that's taking it too far. There's no need for a verbal assault. I think it's important for a dj to ask for a deposit prior to the engagement. As for solid production companies, if twisted/Swing Kids ever book you don't worry about it. There are still a handful of companies out there that follow through with the agreement. I hope my original post wasn't read the wrong way. fORM |
